i dn't even think i'm using the right acronym for this. but it's the PC that you connect to your tv and stuff.

i just got a new tv, and I was thinking of making a pc for it as a media center....and my question was that if I connect it to the tv, will it have a progressive scan dvd player?

do PC dvd drives automatically have this feature?

You're looking for "HTPC"

I haven't really messed around with playing DVDs through my computer, but yeah the video output should be progressive afaik (I guess it depends on the res you're outputting from the comptuer).

I haven't really looked at the details of what goes on with playing a DVD on a computer. You might want to check out the HTPC area of AVSforum for more info.
