Greetings,

my cell is about to die on me and I might be in the market for getting a new one.
thing is, I like my privacy very much.
from technical pov, how much google less I can make a android cell? I don't care if it means less apps (or no external apps at all).
I need a cell to make voice calls, send sms, take a pic or video here and there, maybe bt and that's it.
I don't need wireless (I intend to keep it off) nor cell data (same).
if possible, I like my cell small, so recommendations on small cells will be appreciated too.

please leave non technical comments aside.

Thanks.

sounds like you shouldn't even be looking at smartphones to be honest

Galaxy S one. Google store wont work on that. Nor will chrome. Nor will anything.

If your phone has an Aosp rom available you can easily make it totally Google free.

This really OP.

Why not just get a basic candybar Nokia?

Covers all those points.

Plus the Nokia 8110 in yellow looks bloody awesome! BANANA PHONE!

I found only android version specific list from rather latest machines and none seems official, is there an official list?

  1. Plasma Mobile - I didn't thought they are out. is it in production?
  2. Tizen - this was my primary contender, thing is, beside India, I don't see where else I can get one and I'm not living in India.
  3. Librem - yeah but 600$ for cell is too high of a price for me.
  4. pmOS - seems like it isn't quite ready.
  5. LineageOS - seems like a good option, I just need to find a device that suits my needs and the list is long, not to mention finding an actual device that is workable.
Get a Palm.
I thought these aren't exiting anymore.

I'm kinda blacklisting Nokia after the whole Intel - Microsoft debacle.

If your primary concern is privacy, you should look into microg project, Yalp+F-droid.
What people do is install a custom rom like Lineage + Microg/Yalp.
