Good rule of thumb:

3 cups icecream to 1 cup milk.

Most people put too much milk in.

Dammit. Now I have to make a milkshake.

How do they taste with skim milk?

Not too bad actually. I make them with skim milk on occasion when I'm back home and they usually turn out pretty well.

Yup, soft ice cream with just a little bit of milk.

There's a Klondike bar in my freezer that started softly calling my name...

LOL Thanks :)

Great ideas in this thread. I've always wondered about the blades in blenders because they are obviously different than the blades used on dedicated milkshake mixers. I suspect this has a lot to do this texture. I'll have to expiriment with some things including lecithin or malt power.

I was driving across town the other day after posting this thread and saw a chic-fil-a up ahead. I quickly pulled over and got a strawberry shake. For a fast food joint they make pretty tasty milkshakes.

Come on y'all, go get yo'self a milkshake ASAP.
