Is there a Plastic Film that will make a 32" LCD TV monitor more matte ?
I bought a 32" 1080p Samsung, the LN32A650

I thought it was a high-quality monitor, and it is, except for one thing - it's glossy like a MIRROR ! even with reduced light - you can see what's behind you.
You know that scene in Little Big Man where Dustin Hoffman is sneaking up on General Custer, who is shaving ? well, if General Custer had had THIS monitor as a shaving monitor, he would have seen Dustin sneaking up on him.
Anyway, is there a film or a cover that you can put onto the surface of a glossy LCD TV to make it more matte ? By "matte" I mean - just like a NORMAL computer monitor.
It is odd looking at an XP desktop with this thing. You see the normal desktop, and then you see everything in the room. For me, it is not a productivity tool.
So far the only solution I've found is to stick the workstation into a "Blue Room" environment. My first assignment at my first job out of college was to manage a SCI-CARDS PC design room. It was running on a VAX. The room was kept dark, so the PC designers could see the CRT monitors better.
I did get an HDMI cable, so I'm running from the DVI output of the video card, to a DVI-HDMI adapter, to the HDMI cable, to the LCD TV.
Maybe I'll try wearing sunglasses when I'm using this thing.
Any help in Matte-ifying this thing would be greatly appreciated.
I did find these "privacy filters" at Newegg
for that price, it should have a diamond
but they're for 17", 19", 21" monitors etc. and they're f'ing expensive. For the price of 2 of them, I could buy a new monitor.
