Here's my recipe for a great burger.

Purchase grass fed, organic buffalo from local farm for $4.50/lb.

Form into 1/2 lb patties.

Sprinkle with olive oil and freshly ground black pepper.

Grill on medium heat.

Lay out tin foil, curl up edges, and grill some center cut, thick bacon.

Once bison is medium (about 6-7 minutes per side), place favorite cheese on burgers to melt. Place bacon on melted cheese.

Serve on bakery buns with favorite toppings (I like mayo and mustard on the bottom, BBQ sauce, French's fried onions, tomato and lettuce on the top) and beer.

Actually you know, I just did.

2x 90% lean beef patties, frozen
Grilled medium
Cheddar cheese melted on top
tomatoes, pickles
Served on whole wheat buns

I really couldn't think of anything unhealthy in there, either, except maybe the beef could have been a little leaner.

Healthy or not, the leaner the meat the drier, less tasty it is. Well least for beef.

I always make my own burgers. This way I can choose what theme I will go with. Sometimes Asian or Italian and even Mexican.

They taste way better than anything you can buy. Topped with cheese and fresh vidalia onion and some mustard. That's good eats.

people always tell me a home made burger tastes better than any burger out. If I go to a fancy restaurant that has master chefs who make dozens of burgers ever day. There's little chance one I make at home will compare. Last one I had out smashed anything I could have made, and to boot they had way more topping choices then I could ever have at my house at one time.
