Make two internet connections act as one?

Is there a way to take two internet connections and hve them act as one? Say, two cable modems for double the bandwdth? Hooked up to one computer.

There are hardware multilan boxes that will do this. In theory you can do it on a single box, but not easily (and you won't double the speed of an individual connection, just double the capability if you have multiple connections going)...
