*cries*
ever since yesterday icq has been putting these rather annoying ads at the bottom of my message window.
it was ok when it was just when it was sending files window

but it makes my computer freeze everytime the ads load, ok slow down at least

MAKE IT STOP SOMEONE!

*kat. <-- loves icq but cant take this.

hey, do what i did, install an old version of it. I always made a habit of burning to cd every edition of things like icq, or winamp, and thus I have a pretty good catalog of programs.
I had tried ICq 2000 and it was too ugly, so when I finally got around to installing it on this new setup, I used icq 98, I might be able to pull it up for you, if you want.

This is why we should actually visit other forums on this board. ;)

Try this thread over in Technical Support. It's being discussed thoroughly. :) AND, it even works. I can vouch for that. :)

Mine started with an SMS mini-ad/button at the top of my contact window. From the reports I heard, this would eventually progress to ads in every message window you use. So... I nipped the bud in the... bud. Or something. :)
