I dunno bout anyone else but I am excited about the Xbox coming out

Getting a suped up Geforce 3 with all that hardware, a hardrive, a 100mbs ethernet port and HDTV out capable up to 1920 res is a pretty sweet deal

I know people have been trashing MS but they are working hard to come ou with a premier gaming system and I think they will.. =)

My roomie has a PoS2 and i have been disappointed with it except for MGS2 demo which will come out for Xbox with enhanced graphics anyway

As for the GayCube... that gay thing looks like it should store hotweels cars and the demo games at E3 would be fun if i was under 12yo

Honestly, Everyone has their own likes/dislikes with the upcoming systems. That said, I will probably get the GameCube, because I have a PC, and to me, XBOX seems too much like a PC. Believe me, though, that doesnt mean that I dont like the X-BOX. I am excited about it. I am just anticipating GameCube more because of Nintendos exclusive 1st and 2nd-party games.

Ah... the endless debate. As for me, I'm going to go with gamecube since I'm a sucker for all those kiddie games like Mario, Zelda, etc. XBox probably won't have much of anything as far as games go that won't eventually end up on my PC.

I haven't seen screens for Eternal Darness, but have heard it's looking good. As for Rogue Squadron though, that game has probably some of the most gorgeous graphics I have ever seen. The Zelda "demo" or whatever they called it was looking pretty sharp too. I wish the whole PC gaming community would hurry up and buy GeForce 3s so we can start getting that stuff too.

Everything funky coming out of E3 runs on my PC. Xbox has nothing special worth playing. From what I hear the Killa Gamez just aren't there. Boo-hoo.

Kills me how people keep calling Nintendo kiddie.I'm 28 and been playing consoles from the Atari 2600 until now.I think some people confuse "family oriented fun" with being kiddie, there is a difference.Kiddie is the Elmo and Blue's Clue's games I have for my daughter.

Anyway for info on ED head to the Silicon Knights page. It's not so much the graphics that excite me about this game it's the gameplay.Of course eyecandy will just be icing on the cake. And I agree Rogue Squadron 2 looks awesome. If you havent seen the newer movies with bump mapping and the other eyecandy enabled go over to IGN and check them out.

Which is why I use the word "kiddie" in quotations. To me Nintendo games are just pure fun and a walk down memory lane at the same time.

Anyways, have you seen the SIZE of the GameCube itself? There's an E3 pic (on IGN I believe) with a guy holding the thing in his hand. It's like the size of an alarm clock! I was surprised.

And yes, although I'm only 23, I've been playing console games since the Atari 2300. That would be the one with the metal dip switches that looked like it was made IN radio shack? He he... I still remember when my dad brought that beast home with "Combat." What a cool game that was...

I've always wondered about how X-Box can display graphics at "x" resolution. When developers are putting out games wouldn't they design it to run on say a TV with 640x480 or at most 800x600? It seems you would still take performance hit if you had it hooked up with a PC monitor or something and cranked up the resolution. I really don't know much about X-Box, but this seems to make some sense.

When i went to E3 a few weeks ago, I got to play the gamecube, XBox and PS2. The gamecube was a lot smaller than i thought it was going to be. I like the idea that you can hook up the gameboy advance and use it as a controller. The games looked really sharp but it still seems like nintendo is gearing toward the younger crowd. They had this luigi action game where he played like a ghostbuster, vacuming coins and zapping ghost. A little too kidish for me. As for the X-box, it was very impressive. Halo blew me away with its clean controls and oustanding graphics. I also like the controller which felt natural in my hand and had adjusting built in rumbles. Like MrCyclone mentioned, it comes with a bunch of stuff like the Geforce card and hardrive which makes it a great investment. I feel this is going to be the best ONLINE console gaming machine in the near future. Its a console PC! My only negative about it is the system is huge in comparison with other consoles. I mean BIG! Not a real problem but i like my things compact. Smaller, the better. Even though i think x-box will have a big sucess, the Playstaion 2 is the console that is going to kick ass this year and early next year. Everyone knows that powerful hardware doesn't mean anything without software to back it up. Well let me tell you, PS2 has the best lineup of games out of the whole E3 convention. Metal Gear solid 2(coming out first on the PS2), Gran Turismo 3, Final Fantasy X, and Silent Hill 2 just knocked me out. I was really impressived with the game play and graphics. I really liked Silent Hill 2 even though i only got to play the beginning of the first level. The dark run down hospital and the errie sound really was scary. It is way better than the original. I think the PS2 has the edge right now but i wouldn't be suprised if the x-box takes over supremes in a few years. You can't count out the PC's either. I got to play D2 expansion and a beta of warcraft 3. Blizzard does it again!

For anybody really interested in Halo get it for PC.X-Box version will not have online play.As for the whole HD thing,IMO HD's dont belong in consoles.PC game devs have gotten lazy the past couple years releasing unfinished products.HD on a console could be used as a crutch just like it is with the PC.I'm just not crazy about the idea of downloading patches for my console,I deal with enough of that for my PC.
