Reactor Critical reports:

Although Gigabyte Technology had indicated that in order to avoid market confusion, the company`s own-brand graphics cards would continue to use NVidia`s chips while ATI-based cards would remain for OEM markets, it seems that they have changed their minds and are going to announce a number of ATI powered retail solutions sometimes next-week. The actual boards will appear in January and February.

This one catches my attention:

The most interesting one among all the cards from Gigabyte Technology to come is, of course, MAYA AP or AP64D-H powered by RADEON 8500. The board will be equipped with 64 MB of 3.5 ns DDR and clocked at 275/275 MHz core/memory. MAYA AP supports HydraVision and has VGA, DVI and TV-Out connectors onboard. The board will be made on red PCB as well as its ?relatives? from Maya family .

As the previous one, this very board has hardware monitoring functions and advanced cooling system with Extra fan and silver heatsinks. The most interesting feature is that it is equipped with Video-In connectors.

mmmmmm....hardware monitoring? VIVO? Software Package...with Games!

Retail software bundle includes PowerDVD XP DVD player, 4x4/Oni, Rune, Heavy Metall FAKK, Motocross and Serios Sam games. Shipping time of retail version is sometimes in January.

This is the most interesting part to me.... clocked at 275/275 MHz core/memory.... all OEM and third party retail R8500's are supposed to be 250/250.
I wonder if the 275/275 quote is accurate...

Yea, but the 3.5 ns DDR Ram sure suggests that it certainly could be clocked at 275/275. It sure looks to be a deluxe package as well. Full Retail speeds, nice looking software package (sweet looking card too FWIW) dual head and VIVO...depending on pricing..this could be a real winner, and big competition for the 8500 and 8500dv.
