Cyberrebate was good for the smaller rebates earlier on, but seems to be getting slower as the rebates get larger. I would hope that they are very solvent.

I've heard both good and bad regarding cyberrebate. In this case I'll pass because I don't want to take a chance with a rebate this large.

It takes 4-5 months for the rebates to arrive and every person I have spoken to so far has received their rebates within this timeframe. You can check whether or not your rebate was received ONLINE, so you should know within a few weeks of you sending it in exactly when you should expect your checks to arrive.

I had placed 10 orders in cyberrebate and received rebates of 5 orders already. It always took 14-15 weeks, not too bad. No shipping and sales tax for CA. I'm very satisfied with their service and almost everything I got are free after rebate.

Wondering if the binocular has a pricing error, it's the first item there I've seen you can earn after rebate. Good found. I got the plain one free already, maybe I should get the camouflage one again.

(Cyberrebate helped me to setup my new computer with free keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, modem, network card, gamepad, joystick, amplified antenna for my TV tuner, Altec Lansing speakers (it's now 19.99 after rebate). Staples gave me a free cdrom. Anyone know where I can find a free sound card? :)).

Be sure to use Ebates when linking to Cyberrebates. You get 7% rebate - that's another $6.30 in your pocket ;)

BTW - I've placed 8 orders with Cyberrebates and just placed another yesterday. Received 5 of my rebates so far, three others are pending for payout in the next month or so. Never a problem with them. Wish my experiences with Staples rebates was as good!

OT: One thing about rebate people never considered (including me) is the cost of $0.33 postage.

It was funny when my gf bought a box of color pencil from Staples and it has $1 rebate, which means $0.67 rebate after postage.

I always make photocopy of all the rebate stuff except this one ;)

I guess cyberrebates are are ok as long as you don't mind loaning them your money for 4 or 5 months. Are the rebates from the manufacturer? If not then from who? It bothers me that they charge rediculously high prices with equally rediculously high rebates. What are they doing with all that money for 4 to 5 months?

Cyberrebates will not get any interest free loans from me!

4 - 5 months....hmmm...

How much money could you make just buy putting that money into savings? or a CD? Some online banks offer 6.5% APR.

Also, I highly doubt you'll get the full rebate...just upto the price you paid on the item. Paid 89.99...rebate is for 95.00...you'll get 89.99.

Also...how many people buy this overpriced stuff from cyberrebate and either don't send in the rebate, or fill out the forms wrong? AND...how many people charge their creditcards only to end up paying fees there too?

Bottom line is....JUST BE CAREFUL

Souka: It just irks the heck out of me when people just try and take a verbal dump on a persons deal. I've seen too many people just post, "you can do better than that", or "that's not so hot". And then I run into your comment.

You said "How much money could you make just buy putting that money into savings? or a CD? Some online banks offer 6.5% APR." So, I thought I'd answer it for you....

First, you aren't going to find any CD for 4 months that pays 6.5% APR. But, let's say you did, $89 @ 6.5% for 4 months equals a whopping $1.93! So, you end up with less than 2 bucks to answer your question. More than likely, your rate is going to be closer to 5% (so that's about $1.50 for the 4 months). Then you'll have just as much (maybe more) forms to be filled out to open the account. You'll have to mail a check, and for $89, most online banks won't even let you open an account! All that for $1.50 - NOT!

Now, if you bought the product, that's $5.01 in your pocket (plus another $6 if you go through Ebates) and a pair of binoc's. Based on another person's message, that's $30 pair of binoc's and $11, total of $41! That's definately better than your 6.5% dream rate for a 4 month investment. Heck, that's better than a lot of deals posted here lately :)

Bob61,

Since you mentioned ebates, I wonder what kind of experience people have with them. They said that they sent me a rebate check back in August, but in fact I have never received them. I know for a fact that that happened to my friend as well: shown as checks sent, but never received. I sent them an inquiry on Oct. 1, got an email from them a couple of days later saying they will investigate. So far hears nothing from them. Has anyone actually gotten their checks?

As to Cyberrebates, so far I have received all rebates from them within schedule.

Bob61 :

But... Keep in mind that...

so far, they have paid out 20 million in rebates.

Some of the mutual funds have done over 100% this year alone. On average, they get about 30% a year.

CR has been up for like a year now.

Now... 20 million in rebates. $90 binoculars can be bought for $30. We can probably safley assume they cost walmart $20....

So... Assume CR pays 25% what they sell it for. So, that's 5 million in net cost.... so they need a way to convert $20M into $25M in 4 months to pull any profit.

Now... Possibly, CR may be paying off old rebates with the new orders. Lets say, that after CR gets their first order, they pay them out 4 months later. They pay out the outstanding rebates with the influx of money. Assume they sell (20/3 - extra) = 5M the first 4 months.

If they keep on paying off the old rebates with new money, they will ALWAYS have this 5M in a savings account. If it is one of the "good" mutual funds, that is... 5M profit in one year. So, they break even.

But..... this is only a guess. I just need a little more crack, and some rolling papers, and I'll give you the whole story. :D

But... it does show that something like this COULD work.
