I just recently got a generic 550w psu for my existing computer... It is a Athlon 2600+ (non barton) on an Asus A7V8X motherboard w/ a gig of crucial 2700 memory. I was having trouble posting the bios previous to the new power supply, so after the power supply upgrade and flashing to a newer bios I thought my problems were fixed.... the computer would now start up fine and seemed to be performing well... I got a 5400 on 3dmark '03.... Recently I started noticing weird pixelations when playing my only 3d game... tribes 2. It didn't start immediately after the new power supply or immediately after the new flashed bios. I have a few screen shots... you can see how the pixelations are organized into columns... they vary though... sometimes around rendered buildings.. they aren't always in the same places.

Things I have tried to fix it:
1. Use older drivers for the motherboard, ati catalyst.
2. Flash the Bios back to the old version.
3. Put in the old power supply...
4. Made sure my card was cool by adding a pci slot fan right next to it (my system hovers around 105 degrees, cpu 107)
5. I formatted and reinstalled everything tonight to no avail... same exact problem.. My guess would be it is hardware related but you techies out there that thrive off of moding cards and all that stuff can probably tell me exactly what is wrong.
6. Tried a different monitor.

None of the above mentioned things have worked at all. Please help me... check out my screen shots... I hope these links work for a while. Also... the pixelation only occurs when in a 3d mode... not in standard desktop operation (browsing the forums)... it has the same problem in both Direct3d and OpenGL modes.. 16 and 32 bit as well....

If your advice leads me to fix this annoying problem I will gladly pay pal you $15.... it is well worth the money to get this fixed..

You might have to copy and paste the links to get them to work, for some reason they dont work when I click on them during "preview."

Drag and drop for pics.
Did you update the chipset drivers?
I had a similar problem with BF 1942. Turns out my video card was bad. Do you have another card you can try?

are those temps Celcius or Farenheit?
also what version of directX are you using?

I can't see the jpg's the web pages say they are unavailable, but I gather it's either a temp(if F instead of C then it's O.K.,video, or memory problem from what you describe. try using just one stick of memory, if it's still there switch to the other one, if it's still there then I doubt memory is the issue. It's also possible that you may have some corrupt files as well, boot into safe mode command prompt and run chkdsk /r, it will do a thorough scan of your data files for corruption and space errors.

it's also possible there is an issue with this card and that game, check the game manufacturers web site and see if there are any recent patches for the game.

I didn't make this clear in my initiall remarks, I have played this game w/o artifacts before on this computer... with the same drivers... I have the newest chipset drivers from VIA, and from ATI... I've also tried using some of their older drivers... Oh.. and the screenshots do work, but you have to copy and paste them into a browser, I dont know why that works but when you click on them they dont... I am using Directx 9.b... just as I was before when it worked properly....

Just a guess but did you turn Vsync off to benchmark the card and forget to turn it back on. Vsync off will cause artifacts.
