I had to, very calmly, explain this yesterday at great length to a couple people at work who were going all "intolerant left" and "this is why Trump won, libruls" on this story. They actually got it eventually and agreed that the actual rioters were not students and incitement by the speaker was intentional. It's like peeling a huge onion to get past the talking points supplied by fringier media.
In doing so you successfully passed off not one but two lies. First, the ability to don a mask and black attire is not automatically lost when one becomes a student. Being unidentifiable means they are not identifiable, period, NOT that they are not students. Were Berkeley to engage their campus police to actually arrest these "few" violent protesters, then we'd know. Shouldn't be difficult with all those "heavily armed police" in a crowd of peaceful protesters, eh? Second, you successfully passed off the idea that speech you don't like is grounds for violence. Congratulations, you've helped fundamentally transformer America!

Unless of course they simply grew tired of having an idiot mouth left wing nonsense at them and were simply patting your head so you'd run along. ;)

I guess they could have all been Frederick Douglass clones then, since we can never really know. Seriously. The available information does not point to UC students.

I said I didn't agree with rioting nor approve of it and that they should be arrested. I'm not sure how you're ascribing positions to me that I haven't claimed and quoting things that I literally did not say.

Condescension is a hallmark of a weak argument

Love those tolerant and "love trumps hate" liberals. Thanks for showing America how lovely you are.

It's not a protest, it's a riot. Call it what it is. Isn't it ironic that an "anti-facism" crowd is suppressing free speech by mean of violence?

I have only heard a few things this Milo guy has said, I dont particularly like him. To me he comes off using him being gay as a shield to be like "I can't be racist, bigoted etc because Im gay". My objections to his speech or his message, he has the right to be there. Just as some other groups do who I don't like their message. Such as the BLM speaking calling for actual killing of people a few days ago, or a BLM leader (who isnt even black) calling for a military coup. Sarah Silverman doing the same thing. These are dumb things to say, and they incite actual violence.

It sure seems like the left who likes to act tolerant, is so violent anymore. Covering their faces, wearing hoodies as to not be seen, yet attacking people physically and not allowing free speech. Protest all you want, chant, wave signs, etc. That is how you get people to hear your message and get them behind you. Acting like this where you trash building, pepper spray others, etc is not. Its how you get people to go against you even more. I wouldnt have even known he was speaking, if not for this. Now hes the victim, and they're the aggressors who resorted to physical violence. How dumb.

While Milo is right on some things, he's obviously full of it when he acts retarded about global warming and other issues. I'm sure he does this to try to remain relevant because less people would take him seriously if he tried actually being objective and took positions from both sides.

Millions of people do the Women's March and nothing happens.

Anarchists show up to an event designed to illicit this exact response means the entire "left" is intolerant.

Makes total sense.

He may be, and I haven't given him a fair shake. I havent listened to an entire speech or anything like that. Just snips from news articles like this, or when he got banned from Twitter. He may very well have valid points. He just comes off as an extreme jackass and I dont really want to listen that much to him. Which legally is ok, and he still has every right to speak freely in public like anyone else. Same as any other controversial group of people, or person. The intolerance of the left at events like this is just hypocritical, the main point I was trying to make. This does nothing but help him, and hurt them. They're just too ignorant to see it. The ones who did it anyways, not putting the entire left in the same group as these "protesters".

But the left weren't the perps. "Masked men" showed up. I wonder why?

I don't know what more to tell you as a person that lived in Berkeley for the last 8 years: but those were not students. That simply is not how Berkeley opereates.

You're smarter than this disinformation nonsense, or maybe you once were.

again, those are anarchists. They aren't "the left" and they certainly aren't "pinko liberal students." If anything, the anarchists setting fire to campus are far more in line with Bannon and his "destroy government and let chaos reign" cronies that are now attempting to usurp our federal government.

The less you remain vigilant of the reality of what is happening, the weaker we become.

Bullshit, the left is using the black cladders as their shock troops. Why would we believe they're not allied with the left? Why are they not being arrested and identified?

bullshit. why do you believe such nonsense? LoL--you think the left is that organized? :D This idea you propose can only be the result of the type of fever dreams a typical sociopathic conservative would have. The one thing you guys have going for you: organization. Just like Germans. It's uncanny.

In one hand, you call leftists and liberals crying, disorganized hippies that can't put together a coherent message. In the other, you accuse them of organizing masked anonymous shock troops to distract from their true, subversive agenda.

You guys wouldn't be so comical if you weren't so profoundly stupid.

With newsletters easy to generate, yes I believe anyone can read and view emails. Has nothing to do with organization. Lol just look at move-on, that pos useless newsletter. Oh, we can both take an IQ test if you'd like, if you think you're so smart. Hell, I'll even pay for it.
