I have been on the verge of beast mode rage the last few hours. Today I picked up my car from the shop that I frequent. I had left it there for three days because I was in chicago for those days on business. When I picked up the car it had 190 more miles on it than when I left it.....Only reason I had left it there in the first place was they had promised me a free detail after doing my rear brakes.

It appears the detailer went on a ferris bueller joy ride friday night in my little baby. When I got into it today I still could smell the clutch. I immediately called the service manager who told me he would call me on Tuesday...

I may not be satisfied until they put in a new clutch for me.....

was my boxster. Reason I am so pissed it was 20 miles away from 50K and I planned on taking a picture of the 50000 all even.

I feel like a little kid who had his milk stolen....or actually like a kid who was looking forward to a twinkie, the resident bully at school takes said twinkie and licks it and throws it on the ground..

And the numbers of the local news stations on speed dial. That way, if you get no joy from the shop, the next visit they get is from the reporters. :sneaky:

50,000? No problem. Just put the car on jacks and run the car in reverse. It works best if you have a glass garage overlooking a 50' drop. Ohhhhhhhhh yeaaaaa.

Ouch. I feel for you. I do not like when people break their promise, or they do not tell you what they did with them.

Most if not, all cars uses speed sensor and electronic motor driven odometer or digital odometer with no odometer cable since 90's.

That's poor practice on the shop. I hope it works out for you.

I watched part of it again after this thread !!

yay

After flogging the car and changing the oil today I see no damage to the clutch. I dont know if I am being paranoid or just am paying more attention but my shifter balked on a shift for the first time ever.

I am praying he didnt hammer it like David Soul in a mini suzuki....

Did they record the mileage before the repairs? I wonder how much proof they might try to get out of you of the mileage before and after.

There was a guy over a legacyGT.com that had video cameras in his car, for an inside view and outside view. The cameras would automatically start filming when the car was turned on. He took his car to the dealership and after they finished whatever work they were supposed to due, the took the car out for a more than one hour test drive, doing burn outs and full throttle accelerations, burning up the clutch, etc.

If that would've been me those videos would've been going straight to Subaru and every media station around.
