Um, it quite clearly shows Leah being corrupted into Diablo... This was already heavily hinted when we first saw the new Diablo (Sheablo) with clearly feminine features.

*shrug* I see a girl by a fire, possibly the same girl behind some forboding smoke, the bad backdrop of a map screen, and a random monster that looks more like a Zerg Hydralisk than Diablo.

Not at all, but as a played-Diablo-II-Twice-Casually player perhaps I'm not well versed enough in the lore to understand the MAJOR SPOILERS presented in 4 disconnected images. In which case I'm pretty sure they don't qualify as MAJOR spoilers.

Even if they were, I never played Diablo to be mystified by the plot. Both games to date have consisted of: "Diablo bad, he that way, you badass motherfucker, go kill Diablo".

I see, I'm glad it wasn't a spoiler for you since you can't connect the dots. But I just wanted to warn anyone who is really into Diablo series (I am more into sc).

if the story ends up going that way, i'll say "damn, mustangSVT called it" but i won't put too much stock in it right now.

IMO, diablo's form, or any of the demons, for that matter, would (should?) be independent of whom they possess. the only reason i could see leah being possessed is that she is young, much like prince albrecht from Diablo1. but she'd have to have a soulstone placed in her, which has been destroyed in d2. so there must be something else at work.

i really want to see the cinematics with tyrael and imperius in them. those are going to be BADASS!

I loved Diablo 1 and 2 lore/storyline/plot.

Playing the game as a serious singleplayer venture at first (prior to having internet in my home) built up an environment in which it was just me and the AI.

So much so, I've read some of the books and even tried to unlock what will happen in Diablo 3.

Re: OP. I don't know... Leah might be corrupted but for her to transform into this reborn, slimmer Diablo? Doesn't feel right.

Pretty much this, though when the datamine came out it was pretty obvious this was the path they were going. I don't know why everyone is all butt hurt about "OBVIOUS BLIZZARD MOVE!!!!" At least it wasn't fucking turning Demons into Goat Aliens like in WoW. Srs...

Not that I speak for anyone else, but TO ME, I see several images. Without seeing them in an in game cinematic, I don't know if they weren't taken from the same section, or completely different sections of the game. And who is to say even if they were in a cinematic, that it isn't some dream sequence where the player 'Suspects' that it might be, but isn't actually. Or the big D trying to trick the player (he is after all a Daemon).

At the end of the day, you have four images, which may or may not be sequential and consecutive. Which may or may not portray actual in game events and which may or may not be completely miss-leading.

There simply isn't enough here to warrant 'Proof' of anything. Merely a speculation based on a hypothesis.
