i changed some ram settings in bios tonight. system didn't boot so i removed cmos battery for a few minutes. put back in and boot, text is greenish color instead of white. i go into bios and reset everything to what it was before i made changes. reboot and still green text.

reseat monitor cable, no bent pins. boot to windows and still greenish tint to whole screen. screen and monitor settings do nothing to fix.

shut down and reseat video card - bfg 6800 oc. now computer doesn't boot!!! i get a flicker of power and then nothing at all. reseat video card again, same thing. take it out and boot without it. system stays on. put back in, flicker of power then shuts down.

pult old ti4200 in, system boots but text still green. go back to windows and try to adjust. no change. monitor works fine on another pc. put 6800 in another pc and it flickers with power for a sec then goes off.

so right now i am running with a green tinted screen and a ti4200. wtf is wrong? I'm assuming the 6800 is shot and maybe the motherboard has some kind of issue since both cards display green text? one last thing i will do is uninstall and reinstall the drivers to see if thats it but i doubt it.

help!!

ps - i had been thinking of upgrading my system so maybe this will be my excuse....

ok, 1 problem solved - the green tint is because there is a problem with the monitor cable. i found that if i bend it a certain way the green tint goes away and its back to normal. i might be able to get another cable for free so thats no big deal.

the only big deal now is the 6800. since its BFG it has a lifetime warranty so maybe i can get it fixed or replaced.

sending card back to bfg for replacement.

i thought i'd put the card back in after having the system off all day. still does the same thing. shipping to BFG tomorrow.
