Major parts of Obamacare going into effect now

I would rather see a less centralized healthcare system. The Brits are in the process of decentralizing their healthcare system as they found out a highly centralized one is bad.

I would rather allow each state to create their own version. Each state can learn from the others and each state can take care of the individual needs of their own people.

You would never get all the EU nations to agree on a single system for all their countries, run by the EU. Why should all the states have a single system run by the Fed Gov?

Funny you mention that. My brother who live is Rotterdam and has EU citizenship, carries a single medical card (European Health Insurance Card). He works for IBM consulting and was in Germany when he had appendicitis attack. He was treated there in Germany, they took his insurance no questions ask. From what he has told me, single payer health care in the EU is becoming more and more a reality.

My healthcare costs went up again this year. Thankfully the company I work for is splitting the cost increase with me 50/50 so It's not going to be all that noticeable.

Health costs have been going up well in excess of inflation long before Obamacare.
GOP had 15 years to do something about it after defeating Hillary-care, they punted.

Yeah, except they disclose everything and the reasons why are "obamacare" so it's costing me more money to get the same service I did before.

My health insurance has gone up every year for the last 30 years and the coverage has also decreased almost every year too.

15 years? Really? 2007/2008/2009/ all Democrat controlled purse strings...We are in the mess we are in today because they pissed away a whole year while the economy was crashing, focusing on cramming this down our throats.

Yeah, how about a little self direction with the hyper critical critique.

Ausm, yes I realize this as have mine, but these new increases are specifically because of "Obamacare". I have read over it all, it's not going up nearly as much as it did last year, but it is going up and it's going to cost me more time. I don't like having to spend more of my time for the same things I had previously, just so others who don't spend their time as productively can have the same services. I don't mind helping others out, but I do not like carrying people. I am not a mule.

I guess when you side was in power and passing through the deregulation that lead to the collapse would not be in your equation?

btw don't think I don't support the idea of a "socialized" health care industry. I do, it just isn't going to work without rebooting our system. What we have no will never work the way people want it to. That's why I dislike this new legislation. It doesn't solve anything, just creates more problems. That's what happens though when you do band aid fixes to placate the masses in order to retain your seats of power.

Um, really? Barney Frank and Chris Dodd with Fannie and Freddie had nothing to do with that collapse huh? Really?

You sound like an intelligent person, I can't believe you are so hyper biased to think this was all one sided.

I could show clip after Clip of Frank promoting Fannie and Freddie in early 2007 even..... But why bother, would you even listen? I doubt it.

You have to go back farther then that with the Repeal of Glass-Steigall Act,making ridiculously easy to obtain credit, predatory lending, over leveraging by the banks and 30 years of deregulation.

Post links verifying this...

Heres the thing. People will say how great this is, but aren't interested in really understanding what consequences naturally arise as a direct result. They won't try. I'm going to give someone a chance to call me on it or educate themselves. So ask yourself "is he making this up or not?"

I say not and it's a terrific opportunity to discredit someone who thinks this about as good for what really needs doing as Iraq was for countering terrorism - or is it? 😉

LOL, you mean the insurance companies want to penalize the doctors of overweight patients, or the overweight patients themselves? Please post the link so we can see for ourselves, not thst we would think you would spread FUD but to clarify your point in context.

And you are trying to imply that there have been no improprieties by Democrats in the fall of our economy? Really?

Oh no you misunderstand. This is a result of the law of unintended consequences of legislation. That should help you.

The argument is stupid. Whether or not the Affordable Health Care Act is accelerating or hindering the cost of medical insurance from rising, is kinda of irrelevant.

The question should be. How can any entity with profit as a motive provide proper healthcare. When it comes to private industry, do you think they have your best interest at heart or the interests of their stockholders, when its their goal to maximize profit over patient health and in some case life?
