i've heard great things about the High Heat Baseball series, although I've never played it. The Triple Play series is at an all-time low right now in gameplay, and although High Heat may not be as graphically advanced as the Triple Play series it's definitely the game to buy if your a baseball fan. I am a BIG baseball fan, I played and coached in college, and High Heat is the game!!! It is very accurate and realistic, and also lets you do double switches and gives you a full minor league system.

I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Has anyone heard of or played OOTP4 baseball (Out Of The Park 4 Baseball)????

I just saw something about it and am very curious about it.

walberty, I have OOTP4, it's a great game. But it's a text based game, no in game graphics like High Heat. Thier site is OOTP4.com. OOTP4 is $29.90 and is only available via download and purchase through elicense. But the CD version will be hitting store shelves sometime in April under the name Season ticket Baseball, for $19.90 Check out their forum for more info 🙂
 
Went up to 29.99 now? was 19.99 this AM? This will be a great game I own 2000 and 2001 and play in online leagues....Game is an absolute blast..If interested in joining the league(s) msg me. thanks 🙂
 
OK Walberty msg me for the link to the league site and more info. Then you need to email the commish and let him know. It is a great time. 4 games per week schedule. Do everything from a draft to trades and even keep full stats. We have a 30 team league w/ current rosters and a 20 team league w/ Classic rosters (all players like Babe Ruth etc. included). I saw both places brought up the price to $30 now 🙁. I get a free one anyway because 3do sponsors the league and I made it to the World Series last year and won a free game 🙂. Always looking for good reliable owners if it sounds like something you or anyone else is interested in.
 
High Heat series is the BEST baseball series out there. I have played all their games from the 99 to the 2001 series and it just keeps getting better...the field of play is just getting better, it has a realism effect to it that triple play will never give to you.

People should get this if they love baseball like i do. GO GO GO

yeah, ootp is aiight, but not real players either~! they never got the official license, so, you can make the players out using stats...but really sucks seeing different names on these players.

There are user created "real player" roster sets available for ootp4, and there will be a new set coming out soon with all the minor league players. Logo, and "real player" face packs available too. Not to mention you can import ANY year from 1900-Present with the Leahman database 🙂

Definitely a great game. Played 2002 for the PC, and while it definitely wasn't perfect, there were a lot of things they did well. First baseball game where if I thought situational baseball and acted accordingly, it actually meant something.
 
I am really dissapointed by EA Sports and the Triple Play Series in recent years. Their games have been a waste of money. I am going to try High Heat Baseball this year.

Definitely a smart move ditching Triple Play for High Heat. You won't get the same graphics your used to with Triple Play, but High Heat is soooo much better. The pitcher/batter interface is about the best there is, solid gameplay, good sim engine, and good enough graphics to get the job done. If itonly had a financial engine it would be perfect.
 
Definatly the best baseball game out there. If you like baseball buy it and youll be glad you did. I have a crap video card right now and High Heat 2002 is awesome. If any of you like the game enough that you want to join an online league and play 4 games per week let me know. It is a blast and owners spots become available often. It does take a comitment but is a great time. Thanks 🙂
 
High Heat is the best - BAR NONE! I have played all of them and will buy 2003, even at $30. EA has dropped Triple Play this year, from what I've heard.
 
High Heat makes baseball real again, where as Triple Play turns baseball into some sort of Pinball game.

If you are a true baseball fan, the HH is the game for you.

If you like pretty colors and flashy sounds and cheesy effects then go waste your money on Triple Play.
