Good. Make them pay 700 grand (what exactly did that one woman have to pay?) per a song.

Holy balls that's a lot of money. It's nice to see 'em get a little taste of their own medicine, but how much of that will actually go to artists? And how does it get divided if they win?

nvm. It's 20,000 per violation.

They fully deserve this. I mean in my opinion it's way worse then what the pirates do. They are making a profit by selling music they have no permission to sell. I hope they get charged based on the same stupid formula they use in their lawsuits.

Amazing.. Let's see.. they charge an illegal downloader $20,000 for a single song.. they claim that the damages make sense. Now let's see if it works the other way around.

They might say, 'that will put us out of business'.. well I bet some of the pirates had their lives ruined from these same numbers.

I'll never buy another CD from any RIAA/CRIA label ever again, even if that means I have to pirate the music I am interested in.

the movie industry is located in LA partly because it was as far as you could get on a train from the publishing companies in new york, who they regularly ripped off.
