I just deleted the wrong partition in w2k disk management by accident. I didn't format or do anything else but write this post. Is there anyway I can get that data back. Please help

Partition is NTFS and not the boot partition.

edit: in the computer management tool there is an option to restore basic disk configuration. will that do it?

THanks

Search for a program called GetDataBack, they have a FAT and NTFS version. It will scan the drive and present u with a list of partitions it found, and show u a list of folders/files and allow you to copy them off it.

I did the exact same thing in January, and I used a program called Restorer2000, which cost me $50 but did more than Partition Magic's recover routines. Best yet, it's only a 650k download. I got it from Bitmart. Good luck.

Alas, no. There's a downloadable version of Restorer2000 that I mentioned you can try and it will tell you if you can recover anything (actually, it will perform all of the functions except the ability to restore the files). I didn't want to pay either, but I just bit the bullet and paid the $50. I figured that my data was worth paying $50 to get back through my boneheadedness. Served me right. 🙂

You can download Get Data Back, but it will cost you $129.

There is also a trial version:
GetDataBack for NTFS
Download GetDataBack for NTFS and recover you data. The unregistered version allows you to scan your drive, recover your data and see & evaluate the recovered files. As soon as you want to copy the recovered files to a save location you will have to register the software. There is no need to perform the recovery all over again, just enter the registration key in the last step of the recovery process and the copying will be enabled.
