Major computer problems " HELP"

[illegal error]

Ok the first problem occurred one morning, I tried to turn on my computer and nothing happened I checked my wires and everything, I did noticed that my motherboard light
was still active.

So I then swapped power supplies from my old computer and my computer powered on ?


power supplies is enermax liberty 500w

MB is Asus A8n-sli SE

Graphics card evga geforce 8600 gts SC


Oh yeah the enermax liberty 500w worked in my old PC ?



~~~MY second problem ~~~~

MY computer would randomly freeze with screen artifacts followed by one short beep from the MB
sometimes when I restart my xp loading screen look like this
