I knew this would get your attention. :D

What is this about? Well, tomorrow (in daytime in The Netherlands ;) ) I'm going to officially launch the TA Support website.
Why this early announcement? Well, I have to do something to get the attention of you guys. :D

There are some TA-members, that have already seen some previous versions of the site. I haven't heard any major opposition against it, only some minor points (about spelling and such). Some remarks were very constructive and helped me in making it even better, IMO. Most replies were very positive, so let's hope the rest of the team thinks the same way.

Hopefully, the people that were 'granted' (hehe) to take a sneak preview of the Support website, will fill in the rest of TA in this thread, but without revealing too much of its features. There must be some tension for us all. Otherwise, why do we live, right?

Peter.

BTW I especially want to thank RaySun2Be for all his constructive remarks. He really helped me out with a lot of things. :D

hehe IJump,
Don't you worry too much about loosing a few cycles. In the end, I think TA will benefit from it and compensate you for your lost 4 computer cycles. :D:D

I'm beginning to understand a bit of Dutch using BabelFish to translate the DPC forum posts about ECCp-109...

I can understand quite a few languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian and a bit of German) but Dutch is still a bit of a mystery to me...

Can't wait until tomorrow to check the new site.

No prob, Robor.
You're not the only one. Even a lot of Dutch folks have trouble understanding their own language in the proper way. :D
I think Dutch is so difficult to comprehend, because we have a lot of exceptions to the grammar rules. Also, there is a different order in which to place words in a sentence. We are totally different in that respect than franco-, anglo- or roman languages.

Some scientific brains even compared Dutch to Hungarian. I can say from experience, that is totally BS. I've tried to learn Hungarian, but was so frustrated with both spelling and pronounciation, I quite after not even a month.

It is a great thing you can read German on an understanding basis. The prob with that language is that Germans have to translate (or make up some own version) all foreign words. So a computer would be a Rechner, in Dutch a computer is still a computer, but a Rechner would be a rekenmachine or calculator. Some overhere call it a 'zakjapanner'or 'pocketjapanese'.

Hope this explains some things. :D

Nagger, if you have trouble reading some of the posts on Tweakers, let me (or Kifaru) know. I can help you to understand it. I think CyGoR will also be helpfull in this respect.

I can ofcourse make a Dutch version especially for you. So you can try to learn it. :D
Nah, that would be too much work.

Nagger,

Maybe in a later stage, when the site has proven to be a succes, we can dare to think about making translations.
So, the day may be coming I'm going to tap into the wonderfull world of TA-knowledge and ask for assistence (and not only in the translations department).

I've many plans to make the TeAm an even better community. Is that possible, you might ask? Well just wait and see.
The TA support website is only one of those projects and that one has been worked out now. It only requires future maintenance, which is no problem.

Guess I'll see you all tomorrow. :D:D:D

Peter.
