Is it required to put a return address on the envelope or package when sending it out? I'm just wondering if it's a postal office policy.

On a 1 ounce first class mail, no. Any parcel class mail (Priority, parcel post) then yes it's required.

yeah, i have sent several packages before without the return address. I guess it depends on the postal office worker.

actually..under the new regime..your mail w/out a return postal address can be dumped by the USPS..not that I've seen it done but the all the postal employees tell you to put it on at all the ones I've been in..different towns/cities and states..

make the return address the address you want the letter to end up at and some false address as to to address and forget the stamp.
