I just saw a commercial stating this, saying "special rates" on shipping. Anyone have any info on this, will UPS dry anal rape you the way MBE does on shipping?

Mailbox etc SUCKS!
I won't go there anymore.

Everytime I try to ship something out via ups, they won't take it UNLESS they do the packaging, ot they'll take it but NO INSURANCE.
Screw them!!! I pack my stuff carefully with lots of padding and bubblewrap and lots of newspaper in the box.

Now, I'd rather stand in line and ship usps priority + delivery confirmation + insurance so they can't screw me over when they lost the package.

Yes, but they need to get the franchises to buy into the "UPS Store" concept. My guess is that some will probably opt to get out of the franchise and run their silly overpriced "mom & pop" shipping centers. However, UPS should be only charging counter rates if they want this process to be successful. If not, I'll still continue to use Office Depot where anyone can get UPS counter rates. Staples offers UPS counter rates, too. However, the Staples process is so F#!?@D up, I don't care to go through that mess again.

Staples basically has the customer fill out a form with carbon copies. Then, a customer service person types the information into their computer and you pay and then leave. With Office Depot, you set up a profile on their computer the first time you ship a package through the particular O.D. store. From that point forward, your information is stored on the computer. You just use your phone number and a password to get into the information, add the new addressee information for which you are shipping the package to, have the package weighed, pay for the shipment. That's it. O.D. is way more automated that Staples when it comes to this process. I can be out of O.D. in 5 minutes. When I use Staples, I'm at the store for 15 minutes when I ship a package.

All you have to do is go in there and say you want to ship a package. They will give you the works, you'll never feel the same.

Yeah. It's a brilliant move on the part of UPS.

In the commercial, it say the rates are UPS direct.
