mailandnews.com server issues?

Does anyone else who accesses a mailandnews account through pop-client have issues with lots of server errors?
About every 3rd or 4th time I try to log in I will get an error that the server cannot be accessed, and when sending messages, approximately every 5 or 6 tries, I get a server error that it is too busy.

I am wondering if this is a common issue with mailandnews, as I am a new member, and will change service if it is going to continue to be a problem...

Thanks for any info!

I use it but through IMAP and I have tons of problems with it. By far it is the slowest mail server I use of all the different free IMAP servers I use. Sometimes it works fine, but a majority of the time it either doesn't work at all, or its very very slow. I would try another one if I were you.

I've been using mailandnews.com (pop) for a couple years now and have not had too much trouble. They are down every once and awhile and a few months ago they were down for about a week, but they are pretty good for free. softhome.net is better in my opinion. I also use hotpop, but I like mailandnews better than hotpop. Your pop and smtp servers are just mailandnews.com right? no pop or mail in front, just mailandnews.com

thanks for the info. email down for a week is unacceptable IMO, even if it is free. I have looked into softhome, might have to consider hotpop, also.
Yeah, my server info is correct also.

Alright thanks again...

I have used mailandnews, softhome, and crosswinds.net... Crosswinds is the best out of them all. Least amount of downtime. Mailandnews is the worst... ack...

darn...crosswinds chargers for pop-access, hotpop requires payment to not get SPAM. keep looking i suppose...

who would've thought it would so hard to get a secure, spam-free, pop-accessible, reliable, FREE email service provider??? haha... ;)
