I am looking for the following features:

1. Can support more than 1 domain name (currently have IIS configured to do multiple domains)
2. webmail support -> fairly friendly (allows users to configure folders, forwarding, pop, etc.)
3. Support for Outlook (pop)
4. Fairly Secure
5. Supports mailing lists (distribution lists like yahoo groups)
6. Configurable on message size, mailbox size, etc.
7. Preferable Free, but relatively affordable if I need to register

Thank you in advance!!

You're not going to find any mail server with those features for free. Your only bet for something free is Sendmail, but that's going to be on a Linux. You may want to try MDaemon by Alt-N if you are looking for something affordable with lotsa feature. I think it comes bundled with a webmail option.

VOPMail does all of that. I've no idea what it costs, but my isp uses it and I'm happy with it.

Not free but Openwave emailMX used to be realatively inexpensive compared to Domino & Exchange. Should meet all your demands plus is expandable to a bunch of other features such as WAP, instant messaging, calendaring, etc. It's also highly scalable and can (could?) run on multiple platforms including, NT, Linux, Solaris, & AIX IIRC.

Why you would want to run any kind of server that requires uptime on a windows box is beyond me.. lol

This is coming from a recently passed Windows admin who has seen the light with unix

"recently passed Windows admin" who passed with a C- average, and who has no experience, more like.

All my mail servers run windows of some flavor. All have near perfect uptime.

Our mail server under 2k has never crashed. Only comes down for maintence or upgrades, which is very rare.

Same here with Win2k. We run Exchange 2000 SP3. Man it was a bi@#ch to upgrade that sucker from Exchange 5.5. But its been running great since. We only take it down for security and Antivirus dat file updates.
