Was he able to successfully exit the store without assistance?

I had to draw arrows on the ground with chalk. I told him to follow one arrow after another. It took a while but once he got the idea he managed to find the exit surprisingly quickly.

Locut0s, you do know what the difference between a UPC bardcode and a Serial No. are right?

Schfifty Five, you do know how to read right? Well before I answer your question please do me the favor of reading this ENTIRE thread. If you still think I don't know the difference afterwords then I'll answer.

Never seen a rebate where they ask for the serial number part of the box. Sure it's on the same sticker or next to the UPC but it don't mean you need to send it in.

I've done a whole lot of rebates and I have never had one require an original receipt. They all want the original UPC, but not original receipt. Must be different in Canadia.

Mailin rebates have always pissed me off. All that trouble for what, $5? They should just deduct it at checkout, or *ghasp* just have it on sale by $5. Guess they know lot of people won't bother, or just screw up and not be illegible.

That is EXACTLY how MIRs work on business side. It does NOT make sense to sell it $5 cheaper to everyone. Now if out of 100 buyers 60-80 will not get rebate, then we be rollin' in the $$ thar there...

The serial number is on the same sticker as the UPC. I know from experience that they need to see the WHOLE thing and not just the UPC portion of it.

Yes this would be nice. However they know very well that a certain, not small, percentage of customer never get the mail in rebate form or fuck up when filling them in. This allows them to offer further rebates on items over and above what the retailer offers because they know that quite a few customer will never claim it, or claim it improperly. The MIRs are offered directly from the manufacturer to the customer, the retail store doesn't come into the picture at all. They don't even have to let the customer know there IS a MIR on the product and some stores probably don't bother.

Edit: oops didn't see you said basically the same thing 😛

 Locut0s. Seems like such a friendly, calm dude.

Oh I am... oh I am my friend... Hm. hmmh hmmha hummhahahaha, MUHAHAHAHAHahahahahahahaha... I am indeed.

What were we talking about again?

In all seriousness I am though. I seem to get along with everyone, even people other people hate. Maybe it stems from my internal emotional problems. I'm depressed an anxious often so maybe I've developed a very easy going nice exterior as a form of compensation?

Looks like this rebate, like most, accepts copies of the receipt.

Also, like most, requires original barcode.

Don't suppress that hatred, well not too much. It will eat at you.

Huh I suppose you are right. To be on the safe side though I'd send in an original. I usually make extra copies for customer who are buying things with MIRs. Manufacturers will deny your request for the shittiest small reasons. Forget to dot your i's and cross your t's, sorry no rebate for you!

I'm not consciously aware of doing do. I know I DO have a horrible temper on rare occasions when everything seems to be going to shit AND I'm depressed. But the only people who have seen me like that are my parents... who I live with... guess I should stop typing now or I'm going to sound like some freak.

Seriously I have an awesome personality. 🙂

No, not really. Learn to channel that to something...positive 🙂 Could be worse, try being over analytical: hearing every word and noticing every mundane detail that you see.

Back on topic: rebates suck, but buyer should always know it is a risk

I blame your job. The job looks easy on paper but dealing with people takes the patience of a saint and a psychology degree. Stupid employers either see their business get ruined due to jaded employees with no morale or they fire and hire fresh meat to take your place.
