I don't think any such programs exist (generic ones anyway). I was thinking of trying to write one, but I expect it would be futile :)

I vaguely remember hearing about something called Web2Pop. Not sure if it was an API or a working Application. Anyway a google search on that should get you your answer.

<< Yep, a great little program I used called web2pop allows you to check almost any webmail in existence... http://www.jmasoftware.com/english/index.html >>

Thanks for the link ElDonAntonio - it looks like a great program, although I can't get it to work.

I'm using Yahoo, I set my outlook express email account to Web2pop, opened up the firewall, bypassed the proxy, but when I check mail for an account, it pops up the login/password dialog, and when I click ok, it just pops up again.

Under "tasks" in the web2pop program, I faintly see the 'status' when I click OK for my login/pswd, and under the "Library" column in Web2pop I can see a "?". Does this make any sense - any suggestions?

/edit I just downloaded the most recent Yahoo module, but still can't get by the login/pswd box (so web2pop isn't even trying to access the internet yet)

/edit SUCCESS!!! The login name needs to be the complete email address including the "@yahoo.com", instead of just the login id. Thanks again, great program! :)

I just found Eprompter by way of the "Cool and Useful Programs" sticky.

A very slick little program. I use it to check my yahoo, my personal webpage email, and my MSN web-based email. It even puts up a screensaver that shows you how many messages you have on each account.

Check it out :)
