So I've got this set of table and chairs that I was trying to sell on craigslist for a friend. He said they were mahogany and I looked at them thinking nothing of it. I then get this nasty email saying that while the frame of the table and chairs may be hardwood, the ornate carving was done with a wood composite and added on, saying I'm trying to screw people.

Does this carving looking like wood composite to you? I can't tell, but the difference in selling them as either is like $800 for the set and $2500...

Actually they posted a "RE:" buyer beware listing a couple days after I put them on craigslist.

Its hard to tell in the pictures. The parts where the surface is removed, do you still the wood grain or not? It kind of looks like a composite to me, but can't really tell.
