Anyone else ever have it? Had it this Sunday, it was expensive but it was very very good...

For those that don't know Mahi Mahi is flipper's cousin

It's called a Dorado in Mexico, sometimes referred to as "dolfin" due to how it jumps like crazy when you catch one, lots of fun there 🙂
Very tasty white meat.

er, one is a fish, while the other is a mammal... that's like me calling that tuna my cousin...

Caught one when I was on a friend's boat...at that time, however, I didn't like fish, so they ate it.

They're really colorful when they're alive...as soon as they die, the colors start to fade.

Dolphin fish are not to be confused with porpoises, which at times are also called dolphin. Dolphin fish (mahi-mahi) are cold-blooded members of the fish family, while porpoises are mammals and are protected by law. The mahi-mahi is a beautiful fish also known as "dorado". The fish has green and gold flanks that light up with a rainbow of iridescent colors that fade with time. Many retailers will display whole mahi-mahi because they are so striking and to help dispel the myth that they are related to Flipper.

if you get it fresh, there is nothing quite like it, especially if it is encrused a bit with macadamia nuts!
it is flakey and mild in taste yet full of flavor!

I had that too when I went to Hawaii (Big Island). I guess that's where you guys had it.
There was a great place in Kona where we ate it.
