Feynman knew how magnets worked, you missed the point of the video

If he ever got to a point, I never saw it. Looked like more typical side-tracking to explain away curious people looking for answers in science where they haven't been found yet. Some jerk with a lab coat just makes a subtle(or not so) insult for even asking the question and moves on.

Nobody understands magnets. Everyone knows this.

Feynmann and many other understand magnetism incredibly well. Magnetism is understood better than gravity. You missed the point if you think Feynman was insulting the reporter. What Feynman said is that the reporter lacks enough knowledge to have any framework to understand the "why."
