magnets and monitors

I accidentally put a magnet near my monitor screen and there seems to be permanent green and black marks on it. Anybody know how to fix this. It sucks, AgggH!

some moniters have a de magnitize button. supposed to fis very small magnetic problems. may work for you. look in the moniter's menu for a demagnitize button.

Degauss, is the term, I believe 😛

Also, you could try finding a degaussing coil. Essentially coiled wire with current passed thru it, twirled in a circle in front of a CRT it can fix most magnetism caused problems. 🙂

Funny, my physics teacher was just doing his demo of magnetic fields and their effect on electrons a few weeks ago...At first degauss was fixing the monitor, but then neither it nor a degaussing coil would work. Now we have a monitor with blackish spots on the screen 🙂
