My wife bought my son something simular to what THIS person is selling at ebay at walmart. He got 22 total pieces for $11. I was looking to buy him another set online and all the 200+ pieces were close to $100. I came across the ebay store last week and thought it was a typo, I mean everyone else wanted $100 and he wanted $19.99 shipped. I bought it and it was a great deal. My son can now make all kinds of shapes (and me too).
Thought I would pass on the deal to others that may find it a good buy for thier child as well.

HERE is another website that sells them with better pics of what all we got.

Anyone get theirs yet?? If so how do you like them. We are still having fun with ours everyday:)

AUGH! I bought it for my oldest son and I cannot stop playing with it. My youngest and I just built THIS and we used all of the sticks and had 3 balls left. I thought there wasnt going to be enough balls but there were. 50 is just perfect. I am going to buy another one for sure (for myself :))
If you have one of these post you pics lets see what you can build!

Not to threadcrap, but there are differences between the different magnetic stix. supermags are pretty good, geomags are pretty good. these magnistix you've linked they look ok, but the ad claims they are longer than geomag or supermags but are compatible. that's not entirely true. if these sticks are longer than the geometry's don't work out as well.

but it is a good deal if you don't currently already have a set of supermags (600 piece set i bought on ebay for $120) about 1 yr ago.

Hey for $20 I am happy. Not to mention we just got our $20 worth today. I had a blast with my youngest and then my oldest and I just spent 2 hours bulding a crazy looking thing. And besides at that price I can afford to replace them if I need to and if he looses some parts I wont mind as much. The only problem we have come into with them though is the small magnets on two sticks have come out. Fixed it with super glue :) wont be a problem any more.

I am very pleased with the quality of it. For $20 they have exceeded what I would of expected. And yes he has excelent service. I had to pay by money order and he shiped it out to me the day my money order made it to him and got it in three days after.

I'm amazed someone hasn't crapped on this thread due to the ebay link. I'd like to commend the whole of anandtech for exercising some rational judgement and letting this thread stay open. If it hadn't, I wouldn't have seen it.

Thanks for the link, OP! I'm off to get in on this :)

I thought for sure it would of been craped on big time by now myself but I think that because it is a store and that it can be had elsewhere on line it is able to stay up. I stuck one on the {H} but because they stated in thier rules no ebay auctions I PM'd the Mod there and asked if it would be cool. He approved it too but one mod locked it without looking (I think he just saw ebay) but when I PM'd him and said I had it ok'd by the other prior to putting it up he was cool with it. I am glad it has stayed up because it is a heck of a deal for thoes (like me) that cannot afford lots of money for them. The $11 my wife paid for 22 pieces and the little he was able to make with it I was excited I found it.
As for the fish I never looked at it that way. I broke open the box before my oldest got home and my youngest and I made that. I started with one triangle and next thing we knew the box was emptied. I wish we had the funds to buy more because I could easily buy three or more boxes an see what we can make then. But as far as a fish I will stick with it because like you I can now see it :)

LOL there!! I love mine (actually my sons) and I think I will stick with the 200. It takes awhile to put 200 pieces away let alone 2000!
I would have to say if you use that many boxes once its up thats it super glue it and call it art :D

I am sorry I get that way over some things. I usually drive my wife crazy when I get a great deal somewhere. I bug the hell out of her for days because I cant stop talking about it:p
I will say one more thing though about these and I guess I will drop it, I have never seen my son play with a toy as long as he has with these. Most of his toys I get for him are played with for a hour if that and then I will never see them again. He litterally plays with these every day after his homework is finished. Granted these are not the super huge well built expensive kind (Im on welfare and will never be able to afford them again) but for $20 it makes me very happy that I found them, seeing him use it as much and what he hs built that came out of his mind. I just really wanted to pass the joy I felt to other parents that may be in my same position. And honestly if I had the money myself I probably would buy 10 boxes just to see what could be made. I like the car in the paper or the huge tower. That would be neat to build.
OK nuff said.
