Magnavox Blu-ray Disc Player, $78, Hot or Not?

Walmart has the Magnavox Blu-ray Disc Player, NB500MG1F for $78 with .97 shipping to your house. Add tax of course.

Is this a good deal? Anyone have experience with this player? I might pick it up for a second Blu-ray for another room.

Depends where you live. If you're near NYC, PC Richard has the Panasonic BD60 for $100 -- in-store only. But they also offer the LG BD270 for $100 with free shipping. Stack Bing cashback on top of that (from the store list, click on P) and you get a less questionable Profile 1.1 player...

I got one for the kids last week but haven't opened it yet. Usually I just rip the movies and use my WD Live to stream but it's kinda flaky.

They are just overstock from BF. After BF they was marked up to like $128. I was in my local Wal-Mart Yesterday and they was marked back down to $78. Wal-Mart just bought to many for BF and they didn't sell as good as they had hoped.

Still a good deal for anyone looking for one.

I picked up a Sony for about $127 from Amazon.. seemed to be better feature set. and I've had decent luck with Sony stuff.

None right now, but I have seen only people saying it will play anything they put in it, including Transformers2 and Star Trek.

Bought this for my GF when it was 100 i think maybe around thanks giving. It has played all i have thrown at it. Of course I don't know how the audio is since she doesn't have surroundsound !

Mine seems to work fine, including audio with my HTR. BR, standard DVD, Verbatim DVD-R all work.
