The beta test is now a completely open beta. You can play for free for at least another month or so. The bottom left of the page off of this link has the information:

I like the ability to draft at any hour of the day, there's usually 1,000 players or more looking for a game.

OMG this game is still around.

Too bad they killed it by releasing 4th (Revised) Edition. Oh, those were the days.
 
The best part is that you can play for free right now. If you used to like the game then the beta test on the new online version is a way to try it again without shelling out more $'s for packs.

No... Pokemon was a fad. Pokemon is now pretty much dead, while the better game (Magic) continues to live on.
 
They have an online "store" that you buy the packs from. Right now everything is free. It'll get expensive once the beta test is over. The best thing to do is buy the maximum packs and event tickets you can in a day and then play draft or sealed deck.

bryce - I'm sure my rating is frozen because I have never contributed anything that is worth having a title higher than "Senior" <grin>. I like being the "Senior" Senior and it is as it is supposed to be.

magic is cool but i dont like how they are making aditional sets verry fast(3-4 months apart) it benefits people who hve tons of cash and who buy 2 boxes of each set. Back in that day sets were like 6-7 months appart.
