I downloaded and installed it. Now I am afraid I will get spanked by these kids and their newfound decks. :(

Has a pricing scheme been released for the packs? No way I'd pay more than $2 per pack for something I couldn't really re-sell. (I still have a Mox Jet that I won in a tournament 4 yrs. ago sitting on my desk). The cost should be low enough so that it isn't like the actual game, where the rich will have their power cards and win. I haven't played in awhile, tho' I'll likely see how this progresses.

I heard from someone that Wizards will actually let you turn your virtual cards into real ones. If you buy a booster, you can pick out cards you want to physically have and they will ship them to you, removing them from your online account.

i was spending $1k/year on the game. i stopped at the one b4 urza's (tempest?).

i hope it's not $2/booster?! when i was buying, it was straight from a dealer, so it was like $50/box.

as for hacking, closed bnet at diablo II was more or less cheat proof. and when they found the hack, the corrected it and killed the advantages of the hack. (tho i hear that a new hack happened recently on bnet.)

i might get back into it, depending on pricing. but only lightly at first till i'm certain it's hack resistant, and when wizards does find a hack, see if they will undo all the advantages.

wished they would just give u all the cards and pay a fixed price, like Anarchy Online. But that would kill their business model.

I remember selling this game when I ran a comic shop.. I hated listening to all the kids (though mostly it was the adults) crying about how they were losing... of course the other person always cheated...

Wow people still play this? I remember playing it right before fourth edition came out. Then it got boring.

this has definate potential, thats for sure. I played the beta last night and it was quite well done... much like actually playing magic, except its a lot stricter than friends. My only qualm is that once its P2P (pay for cards to play) will the price be the same as physically buying them? I sure hope not... they are selling digital representations of things that already exist, not a physical presence.

I also find it funny how everyone thinks everyone else is cheating. If you know the rules, question their moves.

yeah, it does that every once in a while... most likely doing updates and development seeing it IS a betatest.

I had to try it a few times, then it finally worked.

Probably had to deal with bandwith issues...
