About a year ago, I saw a hot deal in the Hot Deals forum about 1 year of free magazine. I jumped on it as many other did. Now, I was recently billed by them. The desciprtion I got is Direct Debit/Visa-NSS*GAMEPRO#my account number. I gt billed for pc gamer, pc mag, computer games magazine. The total of 4 magazine is about ~$110. I called PC Gamer and they said they didnt bill me but an agency did called New Sub Service. I called them but I got only AI and there was no way I could ask why I was bill even though they advertise free magazine for one year. Can anyone offer help for a poor college student in need of money? Thx

When you signed up for them, you must have agreed to resubscribe at (inflated) rates when your original year was up. That's why they asked for a CC number. Call the agency up and cancle them, and next time, read all the fine print before you sign up for something "free" 😉

All is well. I guess at the climax of my frustration, I decided to cancel all the magazines from them. There is an option to refund my money in which I opted for. I should be getting my refund in 1 or 2 billing cycle. Thank you all. Woohoo more money for computer stuff. 🙂

Like Viper GTS said, if you have a credit card which offers one time use cc's, use it.

CitiBank, MBNA, Amex and other cc's offer this very handy feature.
