The issue is that Trump won't take it well, but considering that needs food, they will ask Russia for it.

What about the 250M Americans who did not vote for Trump? Everyone gets the same shit sandwich, and even those who live outside the U.S. are impacted in various ways.

Yes, I understand we are all getting fucked as a result.

So what can we all do? With respect to eggs, be smart and purchase alternative foods. The price of eggs rises primarily because companies know they can raise the price and, for now, demand doesn't change. That means more profit. Capitalism gonna capitalism. Lower the demand and prices will lower. But as long as everyone thinks eggs are the only possible food in the universe, prices will keep going up until profits start to fall

On the other hand if you can afford those high prices, keep buying them, double your intake. Best protein for sure.

Story from the LA Times about what people here in SD have been talking about for a while now. Lots of people bringing eggs back from TJ.

https://archive.is/5prIQ

As the cost of eggs in the U.S. surges, more people are attempting to bring eggs across the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities say.
Amid a bird flu outbreak that has caused chicken populations to decline, eggs are disappearing from store shelves. And more people are popping across the border to do their egg buying.
There was a 29% increase in eggs being confiscated at ports of entry between October 2024 and February compared with the same time period last year, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

I paid $6.59 for 1 dozen of jumbo Lucene brand eggs on Monday.

Those same eggs were $4.59 when Biden left office.

Well shit, you are buying Jumbo's. They are always high. Paid $5.38 for a dozen large, vegetarian fed eggs @Winco.

Bought either medium or large dozen for 7 bucks in rural KY, the jumbo 2 dozen were 22 bucks.

Anyway, gonna hard boil some of these golden eggs, fry a few for sandwiches, and maybe some scrambled golden eggs.

I think it will be cheaper to get some hens, make a coop, let them roam during the day to eat ticks ect from the grass, then collect our own.

Then again, maybe even make some bank off them.

Damn, 22 dollars for 24 eggs is near 1 dollar per egg, is insane.

On the 2/23 paid $8.19 for a 24 egg cartoon from Costco in San Diego. They limited purchases to no more than 3 egg cartoons at a time. They didn't have any of the 60 count cartoons just 24 egg cartoons.

I wish this country would sink in the ocean already.
My country increases egg exports by 20%, of course increasing prices here.

Market Basket.
I am sure they’re doing the loss leader thing but a dozen white eggs are $2.99. Limit is one or two boxes per checkout.
Personally I prefer to brown eggs but white eggs are fine.

And I’ve posted before but literally 48 hours ago two MAGAs I know were doing this exact thing.

View attachment 118279

LOL the only MAGAs I deal with are on Youtube, they all say "he just became president, you're dumb if you think he can make prices change over night" when Trump literally said "I'll lower grocery prices on day 1" He has it made, his supporters don't even care if he doesn't deliver on his promises. They still worship him.
