Oh look, Dow closed lower 10 days in a row. This hasn't happened since 1974. Probably better to rollover and let Trump do what he wants to do. Time to invest in funny money, those Crypto dollars are going to go a long way. /s
Uh, Wall Street reacted to Fed's anticipating less rate cuts next year than previously, i.e. now only 2. They expect inflation to be more of a problem than they had thought. In this forum we've been saying that inflation will spike ever since the Orange Menace became PE.

From Investor's Business Daily website right now:

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.4% at midday, aiming to crack a nine-session losing streak, but flipped and lost 1,123 points, or 2.6%. Now at 10 days, it's the Dow's longest losing streak since an 11-day plunge ending in October 1974, slightly more than a half-century ago.

Not paying the TSA or air traffic controllers right as Christmas travel season hits is an amazing decision to make. I'm sure everybody is gonna show up even though they're not getting paid and there will be no adverse consequences.

Already getting a Musk/Trump caused government shutdown and he's not even in office yet eh? The man hasn't lost his touch.

Republicans immediately stepping on rakes. Who could have foreseen this?

No dedicated budget thread? I am disappoint. Saw a headline that the Dow dropped 1100 points because Fed announced 2 rate cuts for next year. Then saw the headline that Trump third-trimester aborted the budget resolution. LOL. Yep, it was the rate cut announcement, not Trump. Hey, what time did the budget torpedo break? 2pm. Hey what time did the Dow start to fall off? Oh look! 2pm! Yep, rate cut announcement. I swear, 90% of today's journalists need to go back to manual labor.

They are saying it but like always nobody cares and the media is already blaming the Fed instead of Trump for the impact to the Dow so now that will be gospel. At this point it doesn't fucking matter anyway. It isn't like Americans can take it back.

Jeffries already said they will oppose a clean CR. Even more than that the real problem is that the House GOP cannot negotiate anything at all now, no deal is doable if this can happen. Which is a sticky place to be with a razor thin margin that is soon to almost disappear entirely.

I have a feeling we'll be looking back on days like today fondly a little over 30 days from now. The only way shit does not violently hit the fan on inauguration day is if Trump's cabinet turns out to be as incompetent as we all hope they'll be.

Thousand point daily swings in the Dow were the norm for Trump's first few months in office.

Oh no! Ol' Suze has surprised face again.

That particular demand is actually very reasonable for Trump. Getting the debt ceiling raised before he takes office and blows up the deficit is good politics. Republicans can't help themselves; they have to blow up the deficit.

Rate cut cut was the result of Fed anticipating inflation challenges. Why? What do you think? Trump's tariffs. WTF else? Put 2 and 2 together and you get the worst DOW losing streak in over 50 years. Merry ...

I can get behind blocking the CR. Why should my tax money go to disaster victims and farmers in crap red states? Why should it go to a stadium for the Washington commanders? E15 fuel … no. Give the people what they voted for, which is not spending federal money in their districts.

The GOP can win elections but have not been able to actually govern since the Clinton era.

They are already feasting on their own by calling for challengers to hard right people like a Chip Roy who has already said no to doing away with the debt ceiling.

The Trump backed funding bill lost by a greater margin than the negotiated bill would have.

Looks like we are going to have a shut down until sometime in January. Does this mean we can just cancel the inauguration?

174-235 lmao

Having some real flashbacks to Trump 1.0 when he demanded a vote on his immigration proposal and it got the least amount of votes of any plan on the table.

Most of our managers spent the day throwing together the list of programs and people that will still be required to be supported and who will be furloughed.

As a reminder civil servants won’t be paid during a shutdown regardless of whether they are required to work but will receive back pay regardless of whether they worked or not.

Perhaps somebody should remind Trump that the military goes unpaid during this...
