If you've got the room for it, you can never have too many stand up freezers.
My wife & I are in agreement, no freezers other than the refrigerator are to be in the house. There are two of us and all our food should fit inside our refrigerator. Anything else is excessive and we shouldn’t have bought it.

There are many, many flavors of supply chain interruption that don't inherently involve power loss.

Edit: I'm not telling you that you need a freezer, just saying there are valid reasons to have more food on hand for two people than a standard fridge/freezer can hold.
I don’t think it’s weird to have one it’s just not for us and I forgot which one of us said it but it’s accurate, a normal fridge should hold enough food for two people.

I'm single and I have a chest freezer. Expensed it when I had a food consulting gig. Now it's there for supply chain interruption like the non bashful amphibian says

I just don’t like bulk buying and I don’t like eating food that’s been frozen for a long time and I don’t like clutter. It’s just not for me.

I'm with you. My freezer is in the basement. I don't keep a lot in it, I try to rotate some chicken and ground beef with my fridge in my place. But I figure if I sense something coming, I can stock it up real fast.

Massively depends on where you live.

If you live in a cold climate and close or in a major city.. makes sense to stock up.

If you live in a tropical climate and in a small town.. makes no sense to stock up as the neighbors will probably help you out vs looking at you like competition for food.

-Agreed. We have two fridges (New main, old goes downstairs as a drink/overflow fridge) and honestly that's more than enough.

Our main fridge already has ancient frozen artifacts at the bottom of it and it's not even that old.

I just prefer to eat fresh, which makes stockpiling more of a chore and waste of money than anything.

Back to eggs.
Was shopping at Safeway last night.

A dozen eggs ranged from 6.79 to 10.99 a dozen.
It depended on the brand and the size as well. (i.e large-extra large- jumbo)

So no real drop in eggs the past month or two here.

Forget what the syphilitic orange menace said about eggs being down 87-94% and are all normally priced now.

My wife is now getting them from a client of hers for 2.50 a dozen, free range fresh local source.

In California we have paid more more eggs for several years due to the laws passed in 2018 and 2022.
All eggs sold in California must come from free range chickens.

I am all for paying more for not having egg, factory farms.

On Saturday I purchased 2 dozen AA large eggs from Costco at 6.89 in San Diego, CA. That would be 3.45 a dozen.
Costco is also no longer restricting egg purchases. So something has changed with the supply.

Yeah I am in the bay area so maybe a little more expensive. Plus Safeway is not really a discount store. They have their sales and extra discounts if you use their app. But their regular prices suck. I haven't seen a sale on their eggs for months, so I was just using them as a reference point.
Grocery outlet by me is selling their eggs at 6.99 a dozen but they are only selling the medium size.

I have to wonder if the menace has ever personally seen a dozen eggs for sale. In fact, has he ever seen a raw egg in his life? Has he ever driven a car? Can he? Has he ever stepped into a supermarket? He doesn't have the survival skills of the "average" American, witness his inability to fold an umbrella.

I'm loving my Costco (Richmond, CA). Last I bought eggs was their brown organic pasture raised tray of 24. Less than $9 and this was April 18, 2025, i.e. a month ago. I don't believe I've every paid more than that for that at Costco. They were running out by midday a couple months ago, so I went early to snag a tray back then.

I'm guessing Trump would fare like the Gen Zs I see videos of where they're beyond stumped at how to read an analog clock, have no idea how to use a can opener, and just don't seem to grasp much of anything that was basic knowledge for every other generation. It's either he's really this stupid, or has a form of Dementia.

I know his cult will fight to the death over him not having Dementia and being 100% mentally fit. But Dementia would at least explain certain shit and make it explanable. If he doesn't have Dementia, but still is unable to use an umbrella or open a water bottle, that's a whole lot worse IMHO. I've seen him struggle with a water bottle on 2 occasions, the umbrella thing. And I've seen him fumble around like a lot old people do. His cult need to pick 1 of the 2 options and own up to it because there's definitely something going on with him. Imagine a "healthy" 79 year old who can't close an umbrella, that's scary shit.

Walmart in Tallahassee has large, plain old eggs for $2.72 a dozen. Works for me.

If Trump comes to my town to ride in a convertible top motorcade limo down our main street, I will buy at least a dozen eggs at any price, and several meringue pies. And prior to that day, I'm going to practice my pitching arm.

If u cannot get close. I would recommend this

And I can verify that it can easily send a water ballon a few hundred yards
