The likely outcome of a Trump trade war is a global recession. Nobody would be happy near term, although China benefits most long term.
The Trump team is just going to nuke the diplomatic capital the US spent decades building up. China's Belt and Road program while a long term negative for the countries involved will be seen as better and really help grow China's global economic and diplomatic power.

The new admin is going to do the exact opposite of what is needed to build respect for America.

It was destroyed in 2017. While they appreciated having an adult in the room in Biden, the world leaders knew they couldn’t trust the US with how willing to vote for such an incompetent idiot in the future.

But lol how the orange monkey thinks Putin, Kim and Xi respect him

From the news I see, this seems less a Donald problem and more a Capitalism Problem, isn't it?

In my country we have the same problem right now, but with coffe.

Got eggs at Whole Foods the other day - I buy their house brand pasture-raised but not organic. They were $5.29 - maybe we don't have as many sick chickens around here just yet.

No single person in all of human history is a more fitting human embodiment of Capitalism than the current sitting US President. When literally every single behavior and policy of his, and the subsequent affects of, is based on his Capitalist greed, he is to blame. Hell, their problems with China is because China started playing Capitalism and are beating them at it. Also "from the news I see" is a big part of that problem. US media has been cowtowing to Capitalist bs for decades, even when it puts them in direct danger of being destroyed.

Coffee is gonna get worse as the species of coffee are becoming obliterated due to various reasons. Same with chocolate. If you've noticed, a lot of products are starting to label themselves as "chocolatey" which I'm pretty sure is because they're gonna be reducing and slowly phasing out the actual chocolate in them.

I told people back then that its likely the US never recovers from that alone. The stuff they did in his first term would take decades to undo, and there being a 2nd term has pretty much permanently destroyed American foreign diplomacy, which will lead to China, India, and Russia filling that void, and will leave America's foreign diplomacy capabilities to basically be threaten. We'll be Russia in no time, and uh, hope people see how that's gone.

They call it chocolatey because there is a legal definition for chocolate. Cocoa butter is expensive, so companies want to sub in cheaper things like vegetable oils, and then it is legally no longer chocolate.

Consumers are extremely price conscious with certain items. So either they get smaller with time or the ingredients change to cheaper ones to keep the sticker price the same.

It's the 'fruit drink' of chocolate.

Most 'Mericans have absolute shit for taste buds so they probably wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between eating a bowl of chocolate ice cream and one of chocolatey frozen desert.

I think people can tell the difference. It's just that consumers have shown through purchasing preferences that they'd rather buy cheaper things than things that cost more and are of higher quality.

You don't have much an option when wages haven't kept place with inflation for... Almost 50 years at this point

I keep hearing this said but it is simply untrue. Real incomes today are much higher than they were 50 years ago.

Americans are also spending substantially less of their disposable income on groceries compared to 50 years ago.

What also annoys me is when you point out incomes are higher people often respond with 'well maybe to you EVERYTHING IS GREAT but not for regular people!'

As I've said before this is an issue with liberals they need to get over. It is entirely good and right to point out things in society that are bad and which we should make better. It is frankly insane to not take credit for things that HAVE improved though. Give people a reason to like you!

Something something neoliberals....

It is good to point out when things are good, because expanding social safety nets means more revenues are needed. If people feel like they're pinched because of vibes, they're not going to support higher taxes.

Wages are higher, sure. But if you indexed the minimum and median wages with inflation starting in 1940 or so, you'd see they're way off.

Hell, federal minimum wage is still 7.25/HR and that was set 30 years ago.

Edit: also not that household income is now more likely to include two wage earners

Real median personal income shows a similar trend. The median American is simply considerably richer than they were 50 years ago.

People are way, WAY richer than they were in the 1940's and 50's too. Like for example in 1950 about a third of Americans didn't have hot running water.
