That is a cool van... There is a similar guy that drives a white pickup truck all over downriver Michigan with similar poster boards, stickers, and slogans affixed to his truck... Now apparently Rush Limbaugh and his listeners are analyzing sticker placement on the van and have determined it’s all a setup.

I have to say this episode has really laid bare just how totally disconnected from reality conservatives have become. From the beginning a thing where a bunch of Democrats get sent bombs was always overwhelmingly likely to be the work of someone who didn’t like Democrats. Instead conservatives whipped up all sorts of conspiracies about the bombs, convincing themselves it was the work of evil liberals. Even after they find the guy living in a fucking Trump shrine van they don’t change their mind, they decide the van is a setup too.

You guys have fucking lost it. Your political tribe has gone insane and you’re so emotionally invested in it you would rather go insane too than admit the liberals were right.

Trickle down has many millions of victims out there, amplified by the 2008 crash. People lost their jobs, lost their homes. Hardships that wouldn't be felt if we had proper social safety nets in place, for everyone.

This guy views the world through a lens that is not unfamiliar, I know some deeply rooted conservatives who think the world is out to "get" them. Unaware that their politicians are the diviners of their own demise. They have no hope for a better future. Lost in despair, they could be agitated into doing just about anything.

Mr. Sayoc is a story of America's failure to lift people up, to give them hope. We can do better than this, we can be better.

While I totally agree we need good safety nets and limits on predatory lending, lots of people have had their finances ruined without resorting to mailing out bombs. Stop trying to excuse what he did.
