MAG gets a release date

Calendar Q1 is the new calendar Q4.

That, and everyone is scared of the Halo 3 ODST / Modern Warfare 2 holiday sales apocalypse.

So instead of releasing in September-December, when people have no money because they are buying/about to buy Halo and MW2, they release in January when people have no money because they just bought Halo and MW2. Also, they're trying to launch their new untested multiplayer FPS two months after the sequel to the biggest online console FPS of this generation.

This had better be a damn good game.

yes and no about the money thing. people get money for Christmas and companies give Christmas bonuses (or at least they use to, LOL)

I know I'm not going to buy ODST right away and not until maybe next summer when the price drops a lot, but will buy MW2 as a Christmas gift for my son >wink wink<

I think MW2 will keep us busy for a while, and then MAG will fit perfectly in right after in Feb or March.

I am with RESmonkey on this and my care for FPS is waning by a lot. I'm going through my RPG phase right now 😀

nah, Sony likes to balance the release calendar around that time of year.

That got quite a few big titles coming out in Q4, and GT5 might make it by the end of the year, but that's completely unknown.

But MAG in January, GoW3 in March - they're trying to keep the hits coming and not bunched up.
Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank, MW2, along with the rest of the lesser AAA multiplatform games, it's a stacked season.

And a great decision too if they bring a permanent price-cut PS3 model, like a $299 slim... helps keep a potential fire stoked.

It looks bad in screen shots. Looks like a psp game.

So does WoW but that hasn't stopped anyone. It's emphasis is on multiplayer than anything else.
It doesn't exactly tickle my fancy though but then again I never play online.
