Well, if a former Ikariam addict thinks it's a waste of time, then I'm definitely not touching it :p

at least ikariam was gratifying for a while lol

mafia wars? sure love that game.

i sold a facebook/mafia wars account for $125 on ebay.... ebay yanked it after i got paid...

it's pretty easy after you figure out how to get to level 200 in less than a week.

here are some free tips for you,

as of right now, only spend your godfather points on stats, everything else is a waste. especially after you get to a higher level. the most important thing is to get 501 members first, load up with the big three (TNT, G Squad, Armored State car). then pump everything into ATT+DEF. LEVEL does not matter in the combat calculation.

go here http://forums.zynga.com/forumdisplay.php?f=40 and post your profile to add more members. you can get to 501 members in a few days.

make a special group (i call it mafia) in facebook to put these people in, and restrict them from reading your personal info if you do not want strangers to know anything about you.

Thanks for the advice there.

also get the script that refreshes your facebook home page and will do any job that gets posted. This will net you alot of extra experience. Another tool to get would be to get the dojobs tool. this will run thru your entire mafia trying to do jobs either in cuba or NY. I run it maybe twice a day and probably get an extra 200 exp. a day. This is useful to catch the jobs that aren't published to your facebook home page that the newsfeed script can't do.

Do both of those tools do the same thing or do they differ?

the latest version of autoplayer will do that for you. i check for beta version of the autoplayer whenever there's any change to the game.

the auto hit-list is sweet....

That dojob bookmark thing is pretty awesome. I've been letting it run in the background and it has gotten me a ton of experience.

I ended up finding the autoplayer thing just okay - I really don't use it often. I probably screwed up my stats, but at one point I dumped a lot into Energy (340 energy at level 211) so basically I run thru my energy in the morning, let it refill during the day, do it again in the evening and let it refill overnight. Usually I have an energy pack available in the morning and again at night so I can typically do four "sets" of jobs with my energy. There is really no incentive for me to be constantly running autoplayer.

If I were to go back and do things, I would probably invest less in energy and perhaps run autoplayer thru the day.

What I think you may be talking about, I may be wrong so correct me if I am, is that the autoplayer will do the jobs that pop up on your notification thingy on the bottom right. But on the jobs that get posted to your main facebook newfeed page that don't get on your notification thingy, the newsfeed script will do also(autoplayer won't see these). If you notice when when you ask for help, it sends notifications to only a small amount of folks in your mafia, these are the folks if they have the autoplayer that'll it'll do. otherwise when they publish the job, it gets sent to everyones facebook main page. the one's that don't get published, and you don't get notified, is where the dojobs program comes in handy.

autoplayer does miss the one on the fb. IIRC. but i like to use it because i have different characters that does different things that its customization really helps.

since i'm a better player now, my main character is the one with horrible stats. which i suppose i can correct overtime. the irreversible mistake is my LEL purchases. let's just say i purchased one too many lame limited edition loot that i can't get rid of. if i can do it all over again, i'd only purchase one LEL just for display. they are at best, good for starting players only.

It does get a bit redundant, but I too am just trying to maximize the best items just for the hell of it.

I started a Vampire Wars character - essentially identical to Mafia Wars - because I do sort of like working out the math on how to best get a new character going. Again, though, after a while it does get a bit silly.

I'm not as bad as the people with over 5000 people in their mafia. You level a lot faster with that many people because you get free XP when they do shit and with 5000 people... >_> Hello. :D

i'm sure they'll fix this soon... i found an exploit with the latest fight screen... well, it's rather easy to have it happen....

usually when your stamina hit 0, you can't fight again, however,

if the 'attack again' button remains, you can hit it over and over again to get some more fights in for free until it disappears (when the opponent gets below 20hp or iced)

but i realized, you can just 'right click' on 'attack again' button and open another tab. over and over and over and over again... for 1-6 exp and possible loot. oh you have to stop and heal once in awhile.

btw, i'm not responsible if your mw account gets deleted because of this cheat.

I noticed something similar tonight. I sometimes use a script to auto-fight (yes, against the new MW ToS, sue me), and tonight it doesn't stop after I run out of stamina. Pretty crazy. I'm tempted to let it run to see how long it goes, but surely I'd get nailed by Zynga.
