Mafia (RANT)

Goddamn, those people sure know how to make a frustrating game. Everything else is good but the gameplay and the graphics. Gameplay suffers from lack of real physics and cheating cops. Those cops, 80 horspower engine, who catch up with me, 230 horse power engine. Lets be realistic. Then the graphics, although the detail is nice for 2002, the glitches are insane and almost made a point in the game unpassable, somehow I went into a place where there were no textures. I was able to got through walls and such, but couldn't get through the wall where the game was supposed to progress. I haven't played a frustrating game in a while and these guys suck and so does gamespot for giving it a 9.4 where another game that much less problems and had just as good a story, they gave a 6.4.

I had no problems with the game, except being to crap to do one of the missions for ages.
This was using a Ti4400 and a 9800.

Mafia is one of the GLITCHIEST games ever!!! I have gone through exactly what you have and more!

I couldn't beat one of the chase levels because the other car kept clipping into the ground at one point.

I never encountered any bugs, luckily. However, the game ran like ass on a 2002 machine, and the game runs like ass on a 2004 machine. The LS3D engine is worse than the first few versions of Lithtech and Bethesda's butchering of NetImmerse combined.

Oh and this one time, I saw this old guy walking to a trolly and I TRIED to run him over. My car hit him, bounced back and started smoking and ran so bad I had to steal another car. The old man was still walking around like he was blind.

Hrm, I didnt really have any issues with the game....and I played it back in 2002 on the PC. But you know, I've heard from other peeps about some of these issues. Its too bad, because I really enjoyed the game. I thought the GFX and the music were great.

I don't remember any issues with the game... I played it back when it came out. I remember liking it a lot though....

you can't really hate this game for its glitches, its got the best storylines ever, playing the game is like watching a movie i love it. I have yet to play a game with such an involving storyline!

It's a good game, but the glitches and frustrating instances and crappy AI bring the score down by alot.

I give it 3/5 Stars for lack A Lot of polish - even with the patch installed.

Check this out - after I beat the game, it now refuses to uninstall. This is just retarded.
