I finished the game last night.....fun game but they should have added more chapters. They hard part in a game like this is designing the world and everything else, adding missions should be easy.

Also, WTF is up with the Playboy pics you collect throughout the missions yet you can't bang any hot chicks in the game. There should be whore houses or something like coloumb mentioned, where you can go in and increase your health amount that way instead of eating something. Developers probably didn't want to deal with any controversy though like GTA had.

Also, the police/enemy AI is pretty bad, if you find the right location and have enough guns/ammo you can hold out forever killing them.

I also didn't like the cliff hanger ending leaving it open for a Mafia 3 I guess to continue the story, they should have ended the story and Mafia 3 should be a whole new story.

Overall, I would say 7 out of 10 is my rating for the game. It could have been alot better though. Time to look forward to GTA 5 to do it right.

I checked STEAM first. They don't offer it for sale although they do list it. I'm assuming its something they plan to offer at a later date. I added it to my wish list. GoG and D2D don't offer it either. Only place I have seen it so far is ebay.

steam started selling it today @ $9.99.

The new DLC Jimmy's Vendetta allows free ride and 30+ missions. Apparently it's almost as long as the original game. Clearly it was cut from the game to make more money. Man that pisses me off.

That 30+ missions thing sounds like "30 requests to go somewhere or do something including driving some asshole 5 blocks away".

For $10, I'll think about it. Got more into the game as the end closed in. Hearing the word yellow and ch**ks was starting to get a bit overbearing though.

Can't believe I'm asking this since I already spent $50 on the game, but does this DLC mesh with the whole game or is it more of an add on after you play? I'm asking because I'm only on the 2nd or 3rd chapter and wondered if I should get this to go with the rest of the game.

You're playing as a different character. Having finished the game and am now playing the dlc, I'd say you may as well finish the game yourself then go on to the dlc.

No, different character. Nothing to do with the main game.

Basically it's more the GTA type of missions. Steal cars, kill people, timed missions etc.

Ok, how does this compare to The Saboteur?

I loved the first Mafia, but I'm seeing alot of mixed reviews on this one. Just curious if it shares any similarities with Saboteur. Is it better, worse, similar and/or totally different?

I really did not like this game. It has great potential, but I felt it was just too short and didn't really flesh anything out well enough. I actually thought godfather 2 was a better game. I wish rockstar would make a mafia style game already.

I can't even get past the 1st go smash up a shop mission on easy. I beat the actual game on hard with no challenge. I simply can't figure out how to smash up the damn shop without being killed by a dozen police and gang members.

I like them both a lot. I probably enjoyed gameplay more in the Saboteur, I found Mafia much more engrossing. To be clear Mafia's main game is very linear. No side quests or anything like Saboteur.

My biggest problem with Mafia is that I don't see a compelling reason for the main character to be doing any of the things he is doing. He just seems to wake up and decide today is the day he is going to kill people instead of petty crime.
