Maetryx here,

So the good doctor numbed my throat, fogged my brain and put a rubber coated fiber optic camera down my throat to look at my stomach and the beginning part of my small intestine. This was in response to ulcer-like symptoms from a few weeks ago. Happy news is that everything looks and feels fine now (and has for about 10 days or so). But, nevertheless they took a couple biopsy tissue samples for laboratory analysis.

My wife (GrimmX) graciously sat by while I slobbered on a towel and "suffered" drug induced amnesia.

**CAUTION** these pictures are the insides of guts. If that sounds yucky, don't click. They are clean guts, though (no food).

Glad to hear the diagnosis was good. The same can be said for the MRI of my knee on Friday; it is apparently healing well, with no "abnormalities." :D

The pics are cool, too, in a TLC-sort of way. :D

Just be glad they did not shove that camera up there from the other end, it's not pleasant.

Glad to hear everything's OK :)

Imagine your pics, but full of blood and rusty looking tissue. I'd have to scan them but people would freak ;)

Well, I was really really dreading the procedure until I talked to a secretary at work. I told her I have to get an "Uppger GI" this morning. She said, "Just be glad it's not a lower GI. Those involve a lot more fluid and someone telling you 'just hold it in a little longer' ".

Suddenly I was REALLY happy to be getting an UPPER GI.

Ha ha! Nope. The photos are color coded to the digestive diagram. Look for the color symbol next to each photo and then look at the diagram for where that photo comes from. One of the photos shows the camera tube itself, because they turned it back on itself to look "up".

One of the most disturbing things that was ever asked of me was from a doctor performing a cystoscopy on me - "Hey, wanna see what your bladder looks like?" And then he turns around little viewfinder thingy that has a tube shoved up my peehole and tries handing it to me while I'm sitting half naked on a chair.

GAH!
