MadOnion's perfomance analyzer: does this mean I should upgrade!?

I'm running a gerforce 2 gts (among other parts found in my sig) and noticing more and more that my video quality just isn't up to par. watching dvd's, playing newer games (aka delta force blackhawk down), and just viewing stuff on my desktop is becoming increasingly bad. so I go to the pny site and use their performance analyzer, which told me that I'd get a 212% performance boost if I switch to a geforce4 Ti4600. Is this accurate?

Should I be really cheap and just wait until nVidia releases something else so I can pick up the geforce4, or is it time to upgrade NOW?

That sounds about right you should about double your performance. If I were you I would get the GF4Ti4200 64mb for around $100, that will be the best bang for the buck.

BTW Nvidea did release something new the FX line.

Buy a GeForce 4 ti 4200 and overclock it to 4400, or 4600 speeds. The 4600 is a ripoff imo. Not worth the extra dough. If your going to drop the extra $$$ I'd go for a 9500pro, or 9700np.

Your gf2 is getting a little long in the tooth.

I just tried the MadOnion performance analyzer at PNY's site on my Radeon 9500 Pro ... I'm sure all the GeF4 Ti fans will like to hear the result:

"High Performance System Detected!
We have detected that the optimal upgrade for your system is one of our recently launched GeForce4 Ti graphics cards. However, the Performance Analyzer does not yet contain enough data to display performance estimations for those products."

LOL - recently launched? I think I'll keep my 9500 Pro! Don't get me wrong, the GeF4 Ti's are great cards, but that statement is hardly very helpful. Also, PNY has the FX line listed on the site ... don't they think those are faster? Time to upgrade the website boys ...

PNYs site just told me I would get a 19% performance increase for just $399.00 (TI4600) over the card I just paid $85 for (Radeon 8500le 128M).

Think Ill wait. Know I dont have the top of the line but soon will for a LOT less. Of course by then there will be a NEW top of the line and on and on and on.

It told me the Geforce3Ti200 was 19% faster than my Matrox Parhelia and the Geforce4Ti4600 was 7380% faster.

Bullshit in both cases.

I could get a 1232% increase with the GeForce4 TI. LOL, I wonder what it will say once I get the part for my 9700Pro AIW.

Performance Analyzer is worthless unless all you do is run 3dMark 2001 all day long.
You could do with a graphics card upgrade, and I'd probably lean towards an R9500Pro.... but I certainly wouldnt put any worth at all into what MadOnion's Perf Analyzer claims.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't test your computer's actual speed because it said my ti4600 was 100% exactly of their ti4600(mine is clocked at 325/725). I think all it does is check what card you have now and puts down what it should perform like according to nvidia. hah, it gave me a good laugh too because it says I run a "Duron 2315mhz"
