Well this explains why he never went into a long drawn out legal battle. Given how complex his pyramid scheme was and how long he ran it I have do doubt that he could have kept this case in the courts for years and years, especially with the legal help he would have had.

I have this image of Bernie Madoff going through a John Lock style transformation in prison and becoming one of the gang leaders. Then escaping one day and never turning up like D.B. Cooper or something.

But he'll probably just die of cancer in a lonely prison cell. Maybe he'll get sodomized a few times too.

While true, I have to imagine that the AIDS excuse is not new. I wonder if people that claim AIDS in prison end up having relations with broom handles and toilet plungers?
