Made my decision for President, using a rationale that is distressing

This has to be the worst pair of candidates in my voting lifetime. I don't think either candidate is presidential material. Obama won't hesitate to expand government and pander to foreign leaders, both of which weaken the nation, and has not fulfilled promises he made that he COULD have fulfilled (transparent administration, e.g.). He let the bankers call the shots during the financial crisis. Romney cannot even acknowledge it might be OK to raise taxes on the very wealthy even just a little, although I am encouraged that he has a fiscal conservative as a running mate.

In cases like this, when both candidates are lacking, I think the best option is to replace the current guy. A change in administration disrupts things and it eliminates momentum that would lead to more of the same.

Obama has not earned another term, and that above all is the reason I will vote for his opponent. The more turnover, the more that elected officials respect the average citizen and will act more appropriately. The middle class is shrinking, is suffering, and yet they keep re-electing the same people over and over. There needs to be more turnover.

This should apply at every level. People who do not deserve re-election should not be re-elected even if the opponent is not particularly appealing.

You always get a do over every four years if you think this decision ends up being the wrong one.

Vote third party, write in BS or don't vote. Don't play the stupid game any longer. This is our country and our Government. It does not belong to the Democrats or Republicans

To the OP. Ignore the liberal circle jerk that has already ensued and will likely continue. People can't respect other's choices and leave it at that.

I am glad you thought about your decision before making it, regardless of the rationale behind it we need more of this. Too many let others decide everything for them.

This is my thought process on who to vote for and I find it also disturbing.

I cannot vote for Romney. He's a man who will take any position so long as it gets him elected. On top of that, he's a Mormon and I can't vote for someone who believes that if the Mormon prophet tells him to do something, that command is coming directly from god himself. I don't trust the Mormon church not to take advantage of that.

I'm not keen on voting for Obama either. He hasn't lived up to the hype he created in 2008. I think he'll go down in history as a C+ president, not bad but not all that good, either. Some of my biggest pet peeves are the civilian casualties from our drone strikes, mediocre Middle East policy, and how he's essentially been George W. Bush v2 when it comes to the Patriot Act, Guantanamo, wiretapping, etc.

I'd really like to vote for Gary Johnson. He seems to be the only person willing to actually tackle our nation's financial issues head on rather than kick the can down the road another 4 years.

However, since my state is Minnesota and current polls show Romney only 3% behind Obama I may be forced to vote for Obama just to help ensure Romney does not win my state's electoral votes. That's sad.

Those are legitimate issues, I can respect the reasoning for your decision.

No we don't need more people making decision based on bad rational and bad facts, hasn't 9/11 taught you anything?

If you base your decisions on stupid rational and on incorrect facts you will more than likely make bad decisions.

Agreed with OP on pretty much all counts, I cast my ballot early.

I know my vote (personally) won't matter in the grand scheme, but I do my little part.

I can't believe the op thinks his vote matters.

That aside, the op is also somewhat mislead because bush expanded govt at a far greater rate than Obama ever dreamed of...

...in other words what is known as "obamacare" was really Pelosicare, the Libya war was endorsed by the republicans and wasnt Obama's idea and Obama didn't set up his state dept. to be the way he wanted to. He just wanted to give Hillary Clinton a chance because she was cute and retarded and he felt sorry for her and me. Unfortunately, she wound up sabotaging too much of what he wanted though.

Obama has cut taxes and reduced the rate of public spending growth, while Republican controlled States have increased taxes and spending.

Gary Johnson can't see the big picture and he would spend more than Obama would want to. Virgil goode couldn't see the big picture when he was in congress, so why would he be able to as president?

I'm in Texas; it doesn't matter if I vote or not so I don't intend to. The straight-ticket Republican masses will turn out by the millions to vote against the kenyan muslim who wants to take their guns away.

We should have a system of proportional representation like other developed nations.

Couldn't agree more. The electoral college is a joke and the reason why voter turnout is so low.

Lol keep dreaming! So long as the right wing exists this will never happen. It would be nice but it would just be a battle between new york, California, and Texas and we know how that would turn out.

He let the bankers call the shots during the financial crisis.

You're concerned Obama let the bankers call the shots during the financial crisis yet you are going to put a Republican Banker in the white house? Sturdy Logic. #Failing.

Stopped reading there. You obviously don't know what you're talking about, either that or you've drank the right wing coolaid. This is no more educated sounding then saying "OBAMMA WILL TAKE AWAY UR GUNS AND IS A MUSLIM KENYAN NON-CITIZEN". If you had performed even a modicum of research then you would see how full of crap your statement is.

If nothing else than to try to stop as much of the disaster known as obamacare, and to prevent even more idiots getting placed on the supreme court. Those two things are enough reason to vote for Romney.
