Can I get the official ruling on when something crosses the line from "theory" to "conspiracy theory"?

Trump federal income tax rate from 1995 through date TBD: 0%.

The cherry picking by Zerohedge is delicious. I mean how stupid does Zerohedge think the average person is? (wait, don't answer that, BUY GOLD)

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/10/us/politics/donald-trump-taxes.html

Can't you use the welfare queen argument? If welfare is so good, why don't you go on it? That sort of thing.

Why don't you start a business and lose a whole shitload of money and pay 0 taxes? What's stopping you? With very little effort you can start a Quizno's or Subway's franchise and easily lose enough money to not have to pay taxes for years. You don't even have to build a real estate "empire" like Trump did or lose nearly as much.

I'm not saying what he paid was right or wrong, I'm pointing out that Zerohedge cherry picking one year in 2005 where he paid 25% as an indication that he's paying a greater proportion of his income in taxes than Bernie Sanders ignores the fact that he likely spent many years paying nothing.

Then again let's not pretend Zerohedge knows how to use scaaary numbers.

It's enough that we're smarter than you. Not only is it true but it infuriates you AND its public knowledge because the evidence is all over this forum a.k.a. the public.

Oh, the big mouth newbie is back. Are you going to do another dare like you did last time, "special" short bus sweetie? Talk about being bitch slap in the face by me to you, in public, yet you are still unable to reply with facts. So pathetic and laughable. LOL.

Still nothing about your statement that I "worship" you? Of course, not. Nothing. Just like you. Shall I go on and list more of your stupid stunts?

Now that is solid evidence of shame and humiliation from me to you. Undisputable truth about you and agent fail troll. :D

You've obviously never filed a corporate return. Technically, if you're scamming the gov't out of taxes the easiest way to do it would be to claim a ton of deductions that aren't really related to your business. Like deducting the full cost of a vacation to Vegas instead of just the one meal that was actually business-related. If you do that enough you can drastically reduce your income and even take a loss, yes. But it's not a real loss the way most wage-earning Joe Schmoe's experience it, where they actually lose money through simple subtraction. Deductions can be gamed and routinely are, though how severely depends on the person, and based on Trump's history he ain't likely to be clean.

Unlikely to nope.

Trump doesn't prepare his own tax return or do the basic accounting. I'm disappointed the name of the preparer firm was redacted but I think it likely they're competent. They would have checked for that. We get penalized now too.

Most importantly if the IRS is frequently auditing Trump it's unlikely there are such bogus deductions. And if there were the IRS would have disallowed them anyway.

Check the fox news quotes and then check the messages from some of the posters here... They parroted fox talking points word for word.

Lol!!

Not an original thought in that guys head!

Anne M. Burford, the controversial former chief of the Environmental Protection Agency, described her appointment to head a national advisory committee on marine and atmospheric issues as "a nothingburger," with virtually no functions or serious tasks.

"They meet three times a year. They don't do anything. It's a joke," she told a Colorado state convention of wool growers in Vail Friday night.

How does an accounting firm verify the claims of the client when they categorize (for example) dinners or entertainment as deductions unless they interview everyone at those events to confirm business was discussed? Essentially it's based on good faith, but feel free to correct me.

This just in:
News Source: Everyone on the planet and... likely others.

A consensus has been easily reached. Younique is smarter than svnla. Evidence continues to pour in with every word he types.

Sciencism (thank you flat-earthers for that term) as well as all Psychological studies support that the more someone worries about or compares their intellect to others the more likely they are extremely insecure about their own intelligence. This insecurity is often partnered with anger, repetition, childish rants, tattle-tailing (to the "public"), unwarranted claims of victory, nonsensical posts, running away with his tail between his legs, extreme distraction with the unfairness of it all and of course limited examples of intelligence.

In an unprecedented bigly meeting (of the minds) all Liberals united and concluded that they are all smarter than svnla, especially Younique is smarter than svnla.

It was further concluded that even lobotomized Liberals would have it all over svnla.

This report is late in coming only because I'm a "newbie" (less a person somehow) but based in facts I myself need not produce. Svnla's got this.

Good day and take time to educate yourself enough to never have to feel insecure about it ever again. If you do that, you'll also never again care about the intelligence of others. It won't matter if they are smart, you'll be smart in your own right. That would be a good day in the life of svnla, don't you agree? Doooo it. Choose pride in self svn... Can I call ya svn? Don't care.

Is calling me sweetie sexual harassment? Or more evidence of you worshipping me? Oooo look atchu looking goofy. By the way keep the PDA to a minimum, it looks gross on you.

The IRS has laid out some rather specific requirements. Receipts etc must be accompanied by the name of other party, the company (e.g., so-n-so, VP of xyz) and details about the nature of the business discussed/purpose. A notation stating merely "we met to discuss business" isn't going to cut it.

To be sure, some meetings/conventions are designed by the hosts to include as much R&R as 'legally' possible so as to ensure the deductibility.

I've never interviewed others at an event to verify a deduction. And in my almost 40 yrs of tax I don't recall seeing (or hearing from other preparers) the IRS interview other people who were at the event.

This category of expense is almost always guaranteed to be reviewed by the IRS agent unless it's just very immaterial.

And the burden of proof is on the taxpayer.

(Also, bear in mind that a deductible entertainment type expense (e.g., biz meal) gets a 50% haircut. So, it's difficult to substantially reduce your taxes this way. Still, it's always fun to ding Uncle Sam for a nice meal or trip)

Translation- You believe the forms are genuine when there is no real evidence to that effect. Which means that if TrumpCo is running this as a scam that it's working beautifully.

It has that special eau de bullshit all over it.

This is exactly the reason there is speculation the leaker may be Trump.

It's all rather odd and too little is known. Maybe we'll get more (damaging) leaks proving it was someone else, or we get nothing else, giving Trump backers enough of a reason to look past all the shady deals he seems to be involved in, thus making a very strong case is was from the Trump camp.

It's obvious his supporters don't care about corruption and just need a little warm milk to go back to sleep.

Arguably the best counterargument he didn't leak it himself is that's playground level shenanigans. Sort of like a CEO calling some newspaper pretending to be someone else to say good things about himself. Someone in an executive position can't possibly be that full of stupid.

Um, I won our last exchange.

Really? You "won"? Need to ask agent fail troll how to lie better than that.

Let the FACTS speak for themselves from the last exchange:

Me = posted your pathetic dare and lying accusation - https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ds-of-up-to-200.2500758/page-10#post-38785536

You = unable to answer being called out in public on your pathetic dare and lying accusation so more pathetic rantings and trolling = https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ds-of-up-to-200.2500758/page-10#post-38785753

Me = tired of your trolling so I said until you give me something to go on, I am done with you on that thread and unlike you, I kept my words instead of weaseled back into the thread again like you did multiple times before - https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...ds-of-up-to-200.2500758/page-10#post-38785761

Facts are facts, in black and white. Just like your post above, you are still unable to answer honestly but more ranting and ranting.

You "won", uh huh. Just like how you thought I was giving you a compliment as "special snowflake". :D

Now go run along and tell everyone that I am calling you "short bus special". That is a YUGE compliment.

Must. Stop. Laughing. So. Hard.

Until you give me something decent instead of more trolls and lies, I am done with you and agent fail troll in this thread. Keep telling yourselves how smart you are and the readers can click on my links and read your own words and decide for themselves.

Yes, people for whom birtherism and such would be an embarrassment instead of business as usual are the smart ones. People too dumb to realize that are hella dumb, and there are many candidates for the dumbest but I'd say you're in the lead.

Facts in black and white. Look here who is the dumb ass (this is just one of many examples) = https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/high-chance-of-china-taiwan-war.2499383/#post-38743019

I use to listen to her on the radio before she got the MSNBC gig. Folks calling her stupid are just making themselves look silly.

"She attended Stanford University. Maddow earned a degree in public policy at Stanford in 1994.[20] At graduation, she was awarded the John Gardner Fellowship.[21] She was also the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship and began her postgraduate study in 1995 at Lincoln College, Oxford. She won a Rhodes Scholarship.[22] In 2001, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in politics at the University of Oxford.[23] Her thesis is titled HIV/AIDS and Health Care Reform in British and American Prisons, and her supervisor was Lucia Zedner"

So thats Dr Maddow to you.

Oh please give us a break. When have valid credentials stopped you from attacking anyone else that doesn't fit your socialist agenda or ideology?
